You are 100% correct. Even Timbaland's 1998 album "Life From Da Bassment" really reflected the range of his musical abilities and unique style. Devante may have been a harsh azz dude but this approach really proved to introduce the world to true talent

The "fountain of youth" is easy to find, it can come from clean living( no smoking, no drinking, no drama filled lives, exercise, staying away from excessive sugar consumption etc) can have you looking your best no matter what age you are.

I loved when she spoke about singing background and doing harmony. People usually look at the background singers and think that they're beneath the lead singer. You must have sang backup too. i have so much respect for backup singers. Looks so hard for them to hold back lol. I know they may want to go straight ham on the mic especially since most sing better than the artist. My little sister paid her way through college singing backup and session work. To me skin bleaching is kind of mental health but more so of a self-esteem issue. Southern Hummingbird is an ABSOLUTE classic, and it is a shame that they would pass on the "Smoking Cigarettes" video: that song was so emblematic of the rest of the album. If you haven't heard it treat yourself.

I remember when her and Ashanti albums dropped around the same time and while everyone was playing Ashanti non stop, I had Tweet on constant replay. Smoking Cigarettes, Complain, My Place and Drunk were some of my favs from her first album. :)

"Oops (Oh My)" is still my jam all these years later. And I thank God Missy Elliott was there since day one to not only discover her, but helm her out of her suicide attempt. Love the magic these ladies brought on "Southern Hummingbird" (2002) & "It's Me Again" (2005). More to it, I'm pleased to find Missy did a demo for Tweet on "Call Me", learn something new everyday. I became a fan of tweet when she was in her group. You heard her soulfulness from the start. DeVante definitely knows talent for sure and I’m glad she was able to bloom into her own thing too. I'm so happy the stigma behind talking about thoughts of depression and suicide is starting to fade. These thoughts are real for many. Understanding how to redirect your thoughts and use techniques - especially, prayer/the word to renew your mind is key to keep living.
