What happens to a 17-year-old rapper who makes a monster hit like 2004’s “Tipsy?” From sleeping in a car at 12, to mooning L.A. Reid, to child support conspiracies, to random shoutouts from Kanye West, J-Kwon’s life has been a wild ride.

The true fans don't care if an artist is commercial or not and they'll still stay loyal if they don't get anymore radio play. Chamillionare for an example, lived up to his nickname as The Mixtape Messiah because he made other songs just as good as Get Your Shine On, Ridin Dirty, Grown and Sexy and Hip Hop Police/Evening News, that should've been on the radio. J-Kwon was a decent rapper.

I respect him for not changing his sound like the other artists in his era did. I never understood why everyone has to have the same sound anyway? Good music is good music and the new technology should be able to emulate the old sounds at the artist request instead of a producer or engineer telling them to rap or sing over a modern day beat.

@@MBYSmusic getting paid for doing something illegal isn't a "so what" thing. You want someone to force you to pay the kinda childcare a rich person pays for 7 years before the system actually listens to logic that should've been done on day one. You got issues. Stars pay as little as $12k/mos. up to $200k/mos.
