Yeah that was great to see Latu become the first defensive player taken. It just goes to show he really deserved the Lombardi award win. But I feel like it's the official end of an era. Like Latu level players will be a thing of the past in the future at UCLA. I hope I am wrong.

@@mitchellmelbon3328 I would love to be proven wrong about UCLA football. But I just think the program stinks and has for a long time.. UCLA has some recent wins over a rebuilding USC football team. That's it. Whereas USC won the 2017 Rose Bowl over Penn State, 11 wins and a Heisman in Riley's first year, and now has assembled what is arguably the best defensive staff in college football and the current 3rd rated recruiting class in the country. I feel great about USC's football future..Not good at all about UCLA's football future. The only hope I have for UCLA is in basketball.

Great to hear that basketball NIL is healthy. UCLA is a basketball school. There's not enough resources for football to ever be competitive like it was in the 1980's and the brief stint of success under Toledo..

That is an opinion. If I were a USC fan, I would want UCLA to remain a basketball school as well. It must have been tough for ya’ll in 1990’s. Ultimately, football is a more profitable sport. UCLA also has a large and affluent alumni base. We just don’t only prioritize football/sports. USC has tremendously overspent UCLA in football and they only have 2 nattys in the last 30 years. SC was a preseason favorite for the natty last year UCLA smoked them. That happened regardless of the excuses made by Trojan fans. #GoBruins

@@anthonyortiz6086 I'm actually a fan of both schools. I never attended either school, I am just an LA sports fan. Whatever team has the best chance to bring college football glory to LA, that's going to be my primary team and we both know that will always be USC in football. But I still root for UCLA to win like I always have. But you make an excellent point, two NC's for USC in the last 30 years. I will take that! That's better than the big fat zero NC's for UCLA football over the last 70 years. We all know what happened defensively with Grinch at the helm, he was a disaster and needed to be replaced; and the OL wasn't as good as the year prior. And these things were expected because you are talking about a program that was crippled by unfair sanctions and a bad coach, Helton. Riley inherited a major rebuild of a 4-8 team and exceeded expectations with 11 wins and a Heisman in the first year! I'm still waiting for UCLA to have it's first 11 win year in football and Riley does it in the first year of a rebuild. That tells you everything you need to know about which school is a football school and which is a basketball school. So it was that first year success that led to the unfair expectations.. Now Riley has assembled arguably the best defensive staff in college football. Hope abounds for the future of USC football. But the same cannot be said for UCLA football. But i do feel hopeful for UCLA basketball.

@@anthonyortiz6086 I loved the 1990's because we won a Rose Bowl. How many Rose Bowls did UCLA win in the 1990's? I'm an LA guy, I will gladly take any success I can get. I also loved the 2017 Rose Bowl win under the terrible Helton. That shows you the power of USC to overcome crippling sanctions and a bad coach but yet still win a Rose Bowl. That was the 25th Rose Bowl win in USC's glorious history.. How many years has it been since UCLA won a Rose Bowl? 37 years? How can you claim UCLA is a football school? What has UCLA football won in the last 25 years? The two best things I can think of are individual awards, Latu winning the Lombardi and Eric Kendricks winning the Butkus. But what about the team? What has the team won?

@@anthonyortiz6086 USC would have won more NC's if not for the crippling sanctions which were unfair because USC had no knowledge and it was proven in court when McNair beat the NCAA and was awarded millions in damages. USC should sue the NCAA..

@@anthonyortiz6086 It's funny, I enjoyed UCLA's success under Toledo. I was rooting McNown to win the Heisman and NC. Too bad the defense stunk. And too bad the ref missed that Melsby's knee was down. At least UCLA won a Cotton Bowl in 1998.. I rooted hard for that win over Texas A&M, we had to come back, remember? Good comeback. But what has UCLA done since? I had some hope under Mora because some elite NFL talent was on his teams. But they were poorly coached squads.
