We should be grateful that Scholz agreed to send weapons to Ukraine at all. That would have been unthinkable for Germany before 2022 - I was amazed when Scholz announced it. (And the Russians were more surprised than anyone.) At the time, I expected Scholz to say that Germany could only supply weapons to a country that wasn’t currently at war - and maybe throw Biden a bone by offering free weapons to eastern NATO members instead (the Baltic States, Poland, Rumania and Bulgaria).
