How Unknown Text Message Led To Finding & Buying 1987 Toyota HJ60 Diesel "G" Trim Level Landcruiser

Theres a lot of coals in the fire right now for me when it comes to anything Landcruiser related these days. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of all of them. Even with all the hot sparks flying off the fire theres always room just a few more lumps of coal to make the fire slightly bigger. Especially when its something unique. Enjoy the find!

Hi from Australia, where Diesel's are King (I have a HJ61 myself). Great find! Totally jealous of that interior and the chrome bumpers (99% of aussie trucks removed them for big Roo bars and rear spare tyre hangers, so much they are now worth a fortune). Pity about the rust! seems to be opposite here where they rust from the roof down! Prob cause we are on the other side of the world upside down to you.

Oo yeah that’s what I’ve heard about those trucks out there. I really would love to get a turbo kit for it and wake it up a bit. Ha I have several bumpers that are decent. If only shipping wasn’t a expensive ha. Totally on the rust thing. Happens in the drier states here for us. But anything where I live pretty much games over the same. Cheers! A neat thing to know. Because you have the vacuum tcase, you can unplug one of the electrical connections to the case and it will prevent the case from automatically going into 4wd when you shift to low range. This is super useful for when you need the torque but don't want to sacrifice your steering. I use mine in 2wd low pretty often. It makes people jealous because it's a free easy to do mod lol. Sidenote: I am in awe of the fact that he used this as a farm registered vehicle and the seat is mint. Farmers are infamous for sliding in and out of seats haha. And as far as the value in the purchase, the 5 speed and 2h alone seem to be worth gold in the states since they didn't sell 'em there.

Only input I have for this is that my LJ70 (2-LT diesel) doesn't require the clutch to crank either.

“I’m driving a tractor!” 🤣…No doubt, but you could probably tow a battleship with that BJ60…and such amazing interior. I’m guessing this BJ came from Canada with that rocker rust/rot. Disappointed they never sold the diesels in the U.S…or the 5 speed. The H55F 5 speed is super sweet! Let me know if you decide to part it out, as I’ve been looking for and H55F for my FJ60…Keep on Crusin’!!

Yeah mate they sure do in some variants but not all. Had cable diff lockers.
