Even with a preemptive neutralization strike on all of the silos (which is totally impossible as there are hundreds of them scattered all around) it's just almost pure fantasy. Each side has nuclear submarines that loiter around and in the other side's waters and they're armed to the teeth with faster and more agile multi-warhead missiles. And anyhow, in the case of a nuclear war (god forbid) primary targets are #1 - Silos #2 - Infrastructure #3 - Military facilities, all according to priority Civilian targeted strikes are basically minimal as in the destruction of the critical infrastructure which are always close to major populated areas, general population ends up being collateral damage in huge quantities...

It cant, the Russian nuclear arsenal is the largest in the world and probably the most diverse, across unparalleled delivery platforms such as road mobile units, rail mounted ICBMs in special rail cars indistinguishable from standard freight cars, autonomous torpedo drones, hypersonic missiles, and maneuverable gliding MIRVs etc, on top of the usual nuclear triad.

It's also believed up to 90 percent of Russia's nuclear arsenal doesn't work. The lack of funds to maintain the arsenal has caused Russia's nuclear programs to deteriorate considerably and it remains questionable as to just how many nuclear capable missile systems remain functioning. The United States also has additional metrics to neutralize Russian nuclear threats not mentioned in the video.

@@terraholdingco A lot of bar stool experts tend to float that theory, however when you build 7 new state of the art Borei class SSBN ballistic missile submarines, and arm them with arguably the most sophisticated SLBM in operation today globally in the Bulava, you tend to have new and working strategic nuclear warheads to fit on them. Same goes for the other systems mentioned in the previous comment, which are generally new units, not of the Soviet era. And their maintenance processes are pretty unique, as the use closed city's for the purpose of nuclear weapons development, manufacture and servicing.

@@Jimmy-ye3wg Some interesting facts about your comment: The Borei class subs have been plagued by budgetary constraints almost form the beginning of their concept designs back in the late 1980's. The Russians were going to build more of them, and they were in an attempt to lessen their ability to be tracked due to their noise levels to keep up with their Western counterparts. They are planned to be replaced, to keep up with already existing superior Western designs, arguably stolen from Western systems, but they have yet to be able to get the projects underway, again due to budgetary constraints. If you're not aware, Russia is in the process of going bankrupt, and no additional submarine build or development is underway. Additionally, Russia struggles with the ability to build technological advancements, as they can't produce computer chips in-house that rival anything the Western world has, and they are struggling to find computer chips due to sanctions placed on them. While this does not limit everything they endeavor to do, it has severely limited what they thought they would be capable of achieving. The war has cost them dearly and it continues to get worse on these fronts for them. Having said that, this also goes for their nuclear stockpile. The war also allowed the West to test Russia in every way possible, gaining interesting intelligence on all of their weapons systems. Like I said, the United States maintains numerous other neutralizing capabilities for their nuclear stockpiles not mentioned in the video. Perhaps you would argue that you commented on the 10 percent of their stockpile that might actually still be operable.
