Could you use something like Home Assistant to trigger a dynamic schedule when the energy price goes negative using data from Amber Electric?

hi @03:00 you get paid to use energy? why is that? here in germany everyone talks if how expensive the energyprices are in australia...

I am on the wholesale network. When there is to much renewable energy in the grid. They charge everyone for putting it in the network. Which means if your consuming at that time your getting paid to use it.

Even in Germany we have the situation to get paid for using energy from time to time. Of course you have to have a fitting contract with your energy delivery company.

@@johnmachter40 You could use tibber for example. If the hourly price at the EEX goes to less than about negative 15 Cents/kWh (because this is about the amount of net usage fee and taxes etc.), you would actually get paid when you use electricity at times of negativ prices. About two months ago we had prices of about negative 50 Cent/kWh at the Energy exchange, and therefore you could earn about 35 Cent/kWh when you used enegry at that time. Of course these are rare events.
