Walking is great for fat loss. When you decide you want to lose weight and go on a deficit, walking makes that deficit easier. 5km/day on a treadmill walking on 5km/h with a low to medium incline will burn enough calories to squeeze in one more meal and feel full. This alone is enough to make fat loss sustainable. You are not hungry anymore because walking doesn't make you hungry and you still get to eat a lot and keep your deficit. I lost 40kg just by walking and eating healthy every day for 1 year and I feel great. Johnny Walker was right...

I'm astounded that people ask if walking is cardiovascular exercise. Seriously? People have been misled. A brisk 60-90 minute walk with hills and stairs included is fantastic cardiovascular exercise. Every runner I know has experienced chronic injuries to hips, knees, ankles, shins (me included). It's so hard on the body, yet so many people think they have to do it. I enjoy the topics you guys cover in the podcast. Thx and best regards

Sure but even that gets easy and then people want to know how to push themselves harder. Myself included. I walk all day at work and go for a leisurely walk after work to wind down. @@kodyramon That is an excellent point. In fact I have never heard anyone explain this more simply or clearly. Our metaboilsms are the furnace for fat burning. You will be able to eat more cause u burn more . (clean calories mostly ) . We all underestimate the importance of REST.... Its when we recuperate . The constant need to do more is actually the opposite of what we really need to do. Ran way too many years was up and down in weight for decades. Wasn't sustainable. Also so much cardio made me eat way more than I should have. Pay attention to your hunger signals . All I do now is walk everywhere and on weight training days with a slight incline 20 or so minutes and I've been able to keep my weight stable while getting stronger.

@ithinkthereforeitalk9352 жыл бұрын
Yes, some of the points he is making are just plain ridiculous. Running has been a common form of aerobic activity for hundreds of thousands of years - evolutionarily our bodies are built in a way that allows us to run from dawn to dusk. And as you have mentioned earlier, as kids we can run effortlessly but when we grow up we tend to lead a sedentary lifestyle, develop severe muscle imbalances and simply forget what it means to be running. On top of that, modern running shoes exacerbate these problems allowing people to heel strike and internalize wrong movement patterns... As for walking, the guy saying that walking is not cardio just doesn't seem to understand what cardio really is. Walking is the purest form of cardio. It's the best way to actually lose weight as bodyfat melts away at a fairely low heart rate (115-130bpm) which can be easily maintained while... well, while walking.

You need fucking cardio to be lean and shredded. I see too many dudes just lift and they look fat and out of shape and their body isn't as healthy as it could be if they played a sport and ran much more. But you also don't wanna be a classic skinny ass skeleton runner
