It actually does have a conclusion with the converance of soul reaver Raziel and the sword, two halves of a whole and Kain uses it to fight the Lovecraft octopus

When i was a child never undestand why Kain did that instead of tell his plans before trowing him into the abyss and when i re-play it understand that in the end was the hate who keep Raziel alive in the end, only the hate and revenge. Probably if Raziel was concient of that he wouldnt survive to that.

Funny that Raziel claims to have surpassed Kain even though turning into a bat and flying were one of Kin‘s earliest gifts, the first of his four transformations in Blood Omen.

I think that it has a greater meaning than that. Vampires with wings have a higher rank among all others so Raziel maintaining his almost human form and also having wings it truly is amazing. This means that he could continue to evolve and reach greater highs than his master.

Kain is such a tragic villain. He starts out with a thirst for revenge, and at the end dooms the world out of pure spite and hatred for the people and lust for power. And Raziel is a tragic hero. Undoing his Kain's work and freeing what has become of the world.

This game inspired me to get into voice acting. Something about it really spoke to me when I was a kid playing soul reaver 2. . . I believe that Raziel transformed into the Soul Reaver (or Reaver of Souls) because Time itself demanded it. He is the soul that gets trapped into the blade in the past by means of the future. The Elder God knew this because he also has control of time as we see in Defiance. It is like the Snake being it's own tail. Raziel becomes what he always was. Question on my mind was how did Kain know. We never got to see where Kain learned the prophecies. We know he explored the Time Streaming chambers, but paradoxes had to occure to fully fulfill his destiny. That would take a mastermind of Time like Mobieus who can see the ripples of actions and their consequences.

I'm glad you mentioned the copyright thing because I absolutely was like wait a minute that's not the right music... If any game deserved a remake it's these games... They're so good I wrote a paper on these games in college for my mythology class because of the heros journey. The cutscense in the second game when you meet kain at the pillars is still one of the best in gamming in my opinion. Unfortunately a remake wouldn't have the correct voice for the elder God. Rip megabyte
