Honestly it's just two contacts. It would be so easy to dab small amounts of solder on the contacts and tap them on the contact from the other side with a soldering iron. I think the whole pressure idea is for people who can't solder. Which is pointless with the assembly complexity of the whole project. Solder is solid. Plan b, these funky zebra strip like glue pads.

While we are at this topic: FYI: there are instant voice translators (the size of small smartphones) from China (iFlyTech and Sogou both have Pro versions) that can do pretty darn-good on-the-fly instant two-way voice translations in between a few dozen languages. Som Japanese brands also have similar product offers that might be better at between Japanese and other languages but the above 2 Chinese brands are superb in doing Chinese mainland Mandarin and other languages voice translations. Hope Scotty can make full use of these in the coming episodes.

If the main difficulty is making a good connection around the pcb plug, why not design it to attach by reflow soldering? There is already solder on the plug and a little extra on the wireless ribbon with some user applied flux might make a reliable connection once soldred. If the ribbon were made with Mylar you could solder it directly with an iron. Alternativly, it looks like you were applying foam tape on top of the plug to press the wireless charging ribbon against the pcb? Why not make a thin foam backing for the wireless charging ribbon that gets compressed under the plug when the shield is screwed down?
@Audio_Simon6 жыл бұрын

@StrangeParts6 жыл бұрын
Yes, Yeke is actively working on this already. Apple actually puts foam around the plug on the logic board already, but Yeke thinks it is too soft (and I tend to agree). So he's experimenting with replacing it with silicone. Still working out some of the kinks in that scheme though...

Conversation microphone acting up lately, had to switch to speakerphone a lot and i thought i'm done with this thing, but then I bought Pioneer Bluetooth headphones and have no more issues making calls so I guess i'll prolong its agony. China:Honest Pricing (I have a Xiaomi Redmi 4A,and I paid around BRL$338 for It.But,the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini is more expensive and has worse specs).
@SuPrAmAd1016 жыл бұрын
we always think of "made in china" as cheap and nasty parts. In all honesty, i totally think the opposite now. After watching all of these videos and even the ones in the factories, they all seem to be very technical and clever. Way beyond the tech in Britain. Yes its mass produced and cheaper because of that but they do make some incredible stuff.

This is great Scotty! Finally, a wireless charging iphone! Awesome! here's another challenge for you Scotty, Oppo has released a mobile phone where you can fully charge you phone for 5 minutes. As I check out their website, it seems that their charger is giving an output of 4 amps instead of 1 amp. I don't know if its only with their charger and battery or needs another add on logic board for it.... and I want to see this also on your Iphone. :)
