That looks class. Would you not need a soundbar or something though as the tv is sitting in an alcove? I’m going to build something similar with a fireplace below and don’t really want to fit a soundbar as my tv will be too high but I’m worried it will sound echoey as the speakers are at the back of my tv

yay finally a tutorial where i dont need to plaster the unit lol planning on building full wall with an electric fire too (wall hanging one) so this has helped a lot 😀 *edited to say I changed to a 3 sided fire, but fml, hammer drill, wood screws etc and they will not go through the cls timber (done pilot hole in main bit of wood) not even got passed making the base yet...im dreading it coming to fixing to the wall as its solid concrete wall and ceiling...any advice pleaseeeeeee? 😁😁

Amazing work boys! I was just wondering is it incorrect to plaster the media wall before painting or is that just a more expensive and longer process ?
@homeimprovements10 ай бұрын
Plaster is better but much more in cost 😊
@Alex-h5k7z9 ай бұрын
@@homeimprovements thought as much ! Also how do you calculate how much wood is needed for the job?
@gotmunchiezАй бұрын
@@homeimprovementsI'd say the price is pretty similar. Angle beads and a bag of multi finish are a little bit cheaper than corner tape and a tub of jointing compound. A couple of jointing knives are a little bit cheaper than a hawk, trowel and whisk. Joint and fill is definitely easier for a beginner to get a decent result though.

@Amped-JDS10 ай бұрын
Lol, mentions to avoid drilling into cables and then drills directly into a safe zone where you should never put a fixing. Couldn't make it up.
@homeimprovements10 ай бұрын
Pay attention mate you’ll see the socket disappear do as I say not as I do we moved the sockets
@Amped-JDS10 ай бұрын
@@homeimprovements I saw the cabling was complete skipped over but that doesn't help the casual viewer that, as the comments below show, copy exactly what you do. You drilled into the wall directly in a safe zone while the socket was in plain view. You can't dress that up any other way.
@lucidcreationscouk9 ай бұрын
What is a safe zone?
@Amped-JDS9 ай бұрын
@@lucidcreationscouk it's the area on walls that are designated as a safe place to run cables or the places to expect cables so you cannot drill there. It's in the building regs and it's generally, 150mm all the way around the outside of a wall and up, down, left and right of any electrical outlet or switch etc.

This is not truthful. The TV and the fire and the labour costs for tradesmen mean that this TV wall does not cost £200. This is a lie
@homeimprovements4 күн бұрын
Errr what you going on about Samuel 🤣 we built a media wall for £200 we did the labour so still £200 and errr what tradesman builds a media wall with the tv and fire included 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s like saying someone built my house but lied because it didn’t include saucepans and sofas your being ridiculous 🤣
@mattykel61359 ай бұрын
Great job looks top quality work. But it's not £200 to do that whole job. You can't leave labour price out, even if its DIY doing the job, it's still your time doing the job.
