I would love to see a sequel/prequel to the Mark of the Ninja!

How did the audience not burst into applause at 2:30? Using "art" as an excuse to grind and crunch is a serious problem.

Great talk! Really made me respect Klei. Not only does this approach help you stay sane it also makes sure you create a good game.

In case you don't know: There is DLC consisting of Dev Notes in the levels. It is great.

Yup, totally worth replaying the game.

glad to see another person who agrees that this is the best game theyve ever played

It’s crazy they didn’t do a sequel immediately. Such a great game

Came here after watching the making of the halo games and bungie's massive push and massive amount of overtime when getting close to release and I really like how these guys think. Huge hours like that are unsustainable and terrible for anyone who wants a good work to life balance. It still looks great at both companies though nothing but respect for all my favourite developers.

I guess that explains why Bungie has like no original members anymore and Klei still has the founding members working there.

To me feels like they actually lost a bit their minds as it seems there was a lot of failure and stress in the first part/concepting/research...
@Ayoul6 жыл бұрын
If failure is part of the process, then you don't lose your mind.
@mahrcheen4 жыл бұрын
The more failures you get early on development, the clearer the path you must go appears. Imagine a failure at the end and scrapping 80% of stuff you built on wrong assumptions.

One of the dev notes mention how the dev had an awakening moment when one of the playtesters used a guards body to disable the lasers (which they didn't intend for) , he mentions how that made him finally believe that they have reached a point where their puzzles could be solved by players through logical conclusions and natural experimentation , which is a huge deal in the stealth genre.

Gladly Mark of the Ninja wasn't too ambitious of a project. Those guys would have killed themself for art

But they DID lose their minds, after all - after Ninja they degraded to ugly crap like Dont Starve and No Oxygen. Such a great step down...
@TheAlison14566 жыл бұрын
Don't Starve isn't bad. It's just not the same kind of game as Ninja. Now, No Oxygen i don't know anything about - but it's interesting that they decided to make another survival crafting game right after Don't Starve.

In the end, what to do is studio's decision. Each game has it's nice ideas and quirks.
@samkern1086 жыл бұрын
Oof. Harsh. I don't personally enjoy Don't Starve, but why shit on something so many people like?
@kaukolsothy99196 жыл бұрын
I don't like don't stave and no Oxygen but they are both really well made and interesting in their own way and add new interesting twist to the genera.

The games you mention are good, and Invisible Inc is probably my absolute favourite Klei game. I can't follow you.
