So helpful, this! Had I not seen your very short excerpt of this video on Instagram yesterday, I wouldn't have responded in the way I did when my husband lovingly confronted me to stop watching Germany's next Topmodel. I might not be affected that much by it (but maybe I am and I just can't see it), but if it's affecting him, I should really stop. I am a little frustrated that nearly all the films I love watching, the rom-com type of films, contain sexual scenes that my husband hates. And I know too that it's not ideal. But then what are films you could watch? What do you watch? It seems we've gone through all of Netflix and there is not one good film in there :(

We canceled our netflix because of how bad it was getting. And to be honest we watch less and less because the way movies are going is not getting better. We enjoy supporting and watching Christian movies. We also enjoy lots of other kinds of movies but again we look up about the movie before hand.

There is a service called pureflix, same concept of movie streaming but from Christian producers only no explicit content

Why should Christians be relegated to formulaic PureFlix plots? And reality TV gimmicks? - Why aren’t Christians paving the way in making compelling films/cartoons/docs and telling compelling stories that even non-Christians can enjoy? - Where are the CS Lewises and Tolkiens of our day? The Bachs and Michelangelos? That is the real travesty here. Too much resisting of the culture because we are not making it. - Our prayers should be geared towards that.

Very good! Just wondering though, why you don't fast forwarding through the racey parts if you really like the show ??

This is so so powerful. Thank you for allowing God to use both of you to spread truth (& not shying away from the tough stuff i.e. abstaining from things that are fun for the flesh in the moment) boundaries can be very very good & help us to strengthen our relationships with God and each other! Thank you again & God bless!❤

Another fantastic message! It seems to be so difficult these days to find shows or even movies that don't have language, sexuality, etc. You guys have such a great point on how even the smallest scene can make a great impact. It's too easy to get into a good show but yet shows one of the few aspects that you have mentioned. Being able to point those things out and talk about it is just phenomenal. I pray that my husband and I will be able to look at the details more closely when it comes to shows and movies. Thank you for another great episode. Can't wait for next week!

Hey, we are a married couple from the uk! I signed me and the hubby up to both your blogs a couple of years ago, we are pretty new Christians, only found god in 2014, and its hard sometimes as our families are not Christian so we weren’t bought up with it, and our friends didn’t get it, and its sometimes been hard finding our way walking with god because of this, our life before was so opposite! Even married in civil ceremony to avoid all things god!! so i just wanted to say thank u so much for taking the time to do these amazing videos, and your blogs and daily prayers, i love how honest u are and its so helpful, i find you guys a great comfort and support, if u ever come to england to do any events we will be there! I love how down to earth you are too! We are still not confident enough to pray together yet only separately but i hope we can be one day! Also we have two young children, i want to raise them knowing god and we go to church n they love messy church but i sometimes i find it hard to know how answer all their questions as i was not bought up this way myself, like my 3 year old asks me why we can talk to him but not see him and i tell her the holy spirit lives in our heart and god is all around us, i try and pray with them often but theres days and weeks where i realise time has flown and I haven’t done it with them or read their kids bible to them and i feel guilty, maybe i sound all a bit silly but thought id ask If theres any chance u could do some videos on helping children grow to love n know god? I hope that makes sense! Xxx

Thank you so much for sharing this! This has been something weighing on my heart for the last few years and I haven’t found many others that share my convictions about entertainment. It can feel isolating sometimes to be convicted about something that others aren’t, so thank for you letting me know I’m not alone! So grateful for you guys and your channel.

I do not like watching shows or series because it gets you too hooked. Its so easy to spend a few hours watching TV but hardly 10 minutes with God. I do really like the newer series about the bible that goes through the life of Christ. Great visual, and great talking points!

Have you ever visited the channel Little lights studio? I think looking into it would be worth looking into their view on entertainment

whats the christian review site? i thought it would be in your description... ? philippians 4:8 ! ! thats the one i thought of immediately. ;) maybe that one is too obvious. i love the verses you shared! :) i think what i love the most is the idea of keeping unity. and how you emphasize listening to your spouse when they have concerns or doubts about a show! ive been in that position, and instead of hearing me i was ignored and that really was hurtful! i think its really important to note that you need to be sensitive to your spouses position in things and instead of stubbornly being like "im doing it anyway"... to listen! its something that, sadly, we've not done and hadnt even thought about in our selfishness. loved learning this specifically. THANKS! ps: i commented before if you had any more thoughts about a growing family - we are now perhaps expecting OUR #4 as well!

Well in my life now that im single, i dont haven't cable or satelite in like 8 years. At all. I think waching tv as the biggest waste of time. I have dvds that sometimes my sister watch. I have netflix and i watch you tube for entertainment. I would like if i had a partner i would like to continue not having cable or satelite.

I find it entirely obscene that you fail to discuss violence. You prioritising a sexual morality is offensive and you should feel bad
