You guys are hilarious! Watching you always brightens my day. I know I’m a little late, but if you’re still planning your next cruise I’d totally recommend Rostand Island Honduras, particularly Tabyana Beach. The snorkeling and diving is amazing! My husband and I have been on multiple cruises and this place is by far our favorite. The reef is literally 20-30 feet from the beach and it’s like swimIng in an aquarium there’s a huge area that’s only about 20 feet deep and then farther out it drops off to 80 feet and deeper. You can explore yourself or there are teams of lifeguards (1 in the water and 1 following in a kayak) that will give you an underwater tour and show you all kinds of things. Another family bought some banana donuts and were feeding them to the fish. They gave our kids a doughnut and the fish came right up to us in waist deep water to eat out of their hands! We brought our kiddos when they were 3&4 and were taking them back this spring now that they’re a little older 4,8,& 10. We’ve only been on carnival so I don’t know if other lines go to that specific beach.

My wife was a cruiser when we met. For me, the thought of being trapped on a ship was the source of nightmares. So I went on one to try it and loved it. Most relaxing vacation ever. We have since been on several and have two more planned for this year. The two winter cruisers we have done were amazing to get away from the cold.

I went on my first cruise with a friend this past December because my friends husband unexpectedly passed away 6 weeks before the cruise was to set sail. We left out of Charleston, SC. It was amazing! However, we had about 2 1/2 days of some pretty rough seas and everywhere we went, we had to literally hang on to the rails when they were available! We took a 12 day cruise and when we got back, I felt like I was swaying back and forth for 3 days! It was great! I can't wait to go on another one but the time with my husband! I used to live in grand cayman for 2 years and it was so fun I never ran out of things to do, pools, turtle farms, water slide spending all day at the beach and actually I used to go to the sand bar and see the sting rays so much and we went every Christmas after we opened presents s so I’m really glad that Penn Charles loved it!

If your schedule is flexible, you can book a cruise just a few days in advance and save BAJILLIONS of dollars. The reality is that many ships near their departure-date with rooms unbooked. The cruise line wants to sell them, even at a deep discount. We did this-and even got bonus upgraded to a bigger room, since those are often the last to sell. You reap all the benefits of any other passenger, for much less money. 🙌🏼

My Grand parents took our entire family on a cruise to Alaska with Holland America and it was fun but the cruise line (and there is no other way to say this) caters more to old people than anyone else. There we two tiny pools that we never used, the lunch options were not very good and I struggled trying to find something to eat every day, but also the kids club didn't open until 9:30 pm and was open from then until 11. I think I went once and was too tired to go again because we had to get up early every morning for excursions. My family also found that we were bored for a lot of our time on the ship because there just weren't many activities during the day. The food at dinner was delicious though and the formal nights were fun. Over all I wouldn't recommend Holland America but it was still a fun trip and we saw a lot of cool things.

Wow! Your experience was soooo different from ours, even though we took Princess. Maybe because it was a cruise to Alaska? Our steward was always grumpy, the chef wanted to know why I didn't finish my meal (it was yucky), the only thing to do on board was to shop for watches, and the land activities were way too short and/or lame. We decided that we simply were not cruise people, but it sounds like we were just on the wrong cruise!

Penn: I get really seasick too. Found that prescription motion sickness pills work beautifully for boating situations where you do need to take something (can't think at the moment the name of the kind I've used). Dramamine suffices for amusement park rides (for me anyway).

My son does that in Florida. He called on Christmas day one year, I was snowing up here in Maryland and he was outside on his patio birching about how hot it was in the sun.
