Fantastic from David Runciman, at last an academic who is capable of seeing, and writing about, the large scale nature of world we are part of, rather than focusing on the minutiae of political points scoring. We exist in systems, machines over which we have little agency, and our concern with the hyperbole of personalised politics reduces our agency a hundred fold. The fact that Runciman understands this in depth and can extrapolate sensibly, as illustrated by his answers to questions, is incredibly valuable.
