Miss USA rbonney is the girl that gives me the winning vibe this year. It’s beyond her “aura” it’s the way she swiftly commands the stage with utter most subtlety. She thinks beyond the pageant and uses her love and knowledge for fashion to enhance her and her brand. It’s almost as if she knows that SHE is miss universe, and that miss universe isn’t her. Like SHE wears the sash, the sash doesn’t wear her. SHE wears the crown, the crown doesn’t wear her. The corporation is the business, but she is the brand. She commands attention just by authentically exuding confidence through her answers despite any controversy. She knows herself very well. She’s articulate and timidly charming at the same time. She’s not doing too much, she is doing just enough. She is simply portraying rbonney the fashion designer and not rbonney the beauty queen. But also, Celeste for first runner up

Yes that’s true she speak for her platform as her career ..her carreer as a fashion designer is her platform in that sense she embodied the MU mission already..she is very connected to people consistently in her all interview.. others spoke all thier preparation but few tackled their platform.Rbonney talked it lengthly on her interviews.

Luck = Preparation + Right Moment. This is Catriona's mantra-philosophy. After coming up short and not getting the Miss World crown in 2016, in joining Binibining Pilipinas 2018, she was fully committed to getting a crown, the topmost was the Miss Universe Philippines crown. And the results of Binibining Pilipinas 2018, with so many awards that she "raked" ("hakot" = hogged in Filipino) proved or justified her hardwork. And then going into Miss Universe 2018 in Thailand, she and her team (and pageant-crazy Philippines) prepared a great deal -- just look at her social media in the lead up to the pageant. I'm not sure if there's also the positive-negative factor that Filipinos expect A LOT from their candidates, and only those who have the grit and determination to succeed (even enduring hurtful comments from fellow Filipinos for what they think are imperfections that said candidates should overcome or eliminate) but I think Pia and Catriona were both prepared and had enough hunger but still remained grounded, and those qualities helped them manage the time period of their respective competitions. At Pia's time, I think social media was less utilized for her campaign, but at Catriona's I think it was really and intentionally used, like there's a plan and strategy for every release. It was really a campaign done by a core team dedicated to make Catriona be out there. And I think Catriona's team was really aware of the challenge of -- and probably more motivated with -- getting the crown especially with Pia's win 3 years prior. Catriona is Capricorn so she knows what "hardwork = success" means. There's also the other factor that Pia's and Catriona's respective luck were actually produced by years of the Philippines and Filipinos investing so much of their energy in winning Miss Universe. The Philippines and Filipinos were REALLY hungry for a Miss Universe win, and so you have that surge, and top placement streak starting with Venus Raj's 4th runner up in 2010.

I have been watching Miss Universe for over 15 years. I always had this "aura" from the winner from the moment I see her step on the stage during preliminaries. This aura does exist and I say it from an experienced viewer and I believe it is a woman's destiny to win the moment she joined the competition! If I were a judge in that interview room, I would easily know who would win the whole thing without even seeing the final competition!

It's also true that destiny plays a part. In 1969, if Gloria Diaz did not make the top five, the judges would never know how bubbly, cute and smart Gloria is. She barely made the top five with all those tall and very beautiful European girls but when she did, presto, the judges' eyes and ears are hers alone and she became the first Filipina Miss Universe.

For me, one quality that can surely make a contestant win the Miss U title is her presence. The spectacle of being noticed right away by the fans all around the world is a big factor. Once that contestant becomes the talk of the crowd with the help of the internet - may it be her social media posts, news articles, TV appearances... that will make the judges, the trainers, the staff, and all those who are part of the MUO become more curious to know more about her actual attitude, personality, intellect, and all other attributes that can only be experienced in person since they had sensed her presence with the help of those who talked and discussed about her from all forms of media. A contestant may be the most beautiful, smartest, most articulate of the bunch but can't make herself noticed and appreciated... then that's gonna be a bummer.

It’s very hard to define in one word, but I would describe it as a certain, very unique “energy” that just makes them stand out in a crowd and, consequently, unforgettable. I would also say she is the woman who best represents that particular moment in time… her relevance, the queen the universe needs most. Of course, she’s gorgeous, iconic, inspiring, empowering, and all those noble qualities. But, ultimately, it’s not only the things you can see, but also ‘feel’ (i.e. her warmth, kindness, humility). Probably the best recent examples for me are Cat and Zozi, who were absolutely clear winners based on their consistent performance from prelims to the final - there was simply no denying they would be crowned, even if you were initially rooting for someone else.

I think one word to describe a Miss Universe winner is “ICONIC”. The past winners has been iconic with their performances, from gown to swimwear to their Q and As. One more thing I notice in the winners is their ability to master the facial transitions when they walk onstage.

it's a winning GLOW ✨ on Finals night. A candidate just possesses it and makes her stand out from the rest. Most likely, it's how she is feeling inside, maybe confidence, determination & a certain competitiveness to make it past through the night's hurdles. Also, it's a propensity not to overthink the competition so as not to make her lose focus. If she is too hard on herself it would show which would make it immediately a turn-off to the judges. 🥀

A unique and noteworthy quality that makes someone or something exceptional. The factor that transcends a person's looks and makes them even more attractive and desirable than someone who is just conventionally attractive. More like a knowingness of a candidate, a belief in herself that comes across in what she is saying. Combination of confidence, charisma and charm. It's being present to what a candidate have to say It's a sense of being free to have a conversation with the audience with no other concerns in the background vying for attention. One aspect of " IT"is having a presence. - alone can be unstoppable.

I think Miss Universe is someone who lights up the room once she enters. Last year, I didn't have any hot picks or early favourites... Once I saw Harnaaz on stage, I knew she was the one. Same with Catriona in 2018 and Pia in 2015. The winners always have this "I have arrived" look. Harnaaz - the way she interacted with the audience. Catriona -- she walks differently, she talks differently.. and I remember Pia "smiZing" at the camera.

I strongly believe that if Celeste wins, it will be because of the technical training she has undergone more than the MU 'aura'. She was the first, if not one of the firsts, to be crowned for the Universe and has had the most time to prepare, plus her history as a pageant contestant. I just want to see someone who doesn't tick all the boxes for the technical part of their performance, but has that MU quality we last saw in 2019.

I’ve been following some of them and I can’t put my finger on who yet. Not at least until I see a top 20 come out. The one candidate that I have been following since Miss Grand International and she placed second runner up was Miss Guatemala Ivana Batchelor. Keep and eye out on her and let me know if you see that aura that she’s made for this specific crown. She’s beautiful not only that but she’s very concern about helping others. Her cause to help people with depression and her having to battle that herself and battled with suicidal thoughts to me says it. She seems like the perfect winner do to all these wow factors. If you keep and eye out on her you’ll see what I mean. As soon as she speaks it’s like she’s glowing. Coming from a small country that’s not as known as the rest sucks because people mainly set their eyes on countries that have won titles before. Check out her out though and let me know if you see that wow factor that I see in her from all these candidates. I really hope she wins. Every country deserves a chance and Guatemala definitely has a extraordinary Miss Universe this year. If you read this I’d like to hear what you think

Iris Mittenare- captivating beauty, best sense of style, very kind and disciplined 2017. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters: had a strongest advocacy, and was very present on and off stage 2018. Catriona Gray: the most charismatic MU; and she can easily connect with people 2019. Zozi Tunzi: best speaker; and I think she had the most beautiful evening gown in the history of MU 2020. Maybe she was not able to watch a lot of predictions during her year but she was on most prediction videos' I saw videos, placing her on top 5 and top 10. Although not a predicted winner but she was definitely strong that year.

I remember when you did a video on a few of the MU 2020 contestants (I think it was Mexico, Peru, and Colombia) and you mentioned about Andrea Meza that she had the “IT” factor 🤗

Bruh, I’m going to be there this year for the first time, and I am so so sooooooo excited because I always watched it on tv and now I’m going to be there, I’m shook. This year seems to be a very strong batch of women as always but like, I don’t see a clear winner yet. I’m excited

I saw a video of Andrea Meza stepping out of a car and I just knew she was going to win. My friends thought I was crazy. The winner always has an aura - usually noticed by most during the Prelim. Davina Bennet ( Ms Jamaica ) was hardly ever mentioned until she stepped out onto the stage in Prelims - she came 3rd Contestants come alive or die in Prelims

Those who won Miss Universe had commanding presence on stage that separated them from other candidates. Can’t wait for the arrival. This is the battle of the finest. I am rooting for Celeste but may the best women win and represent the universe.👑

You want to sit down and have a piece of cake and coffee with them. And you think they like you without even knowing you. Silly no? But I believe it's that simple...Joseph from the USA (I think Celeste has it and R'Bonney has it and Miss Thailand has it, and Miss Cambodia - I am not good at this I love them all! And I wish them ALL the best of luck every single one of them!

When I just stopped talking and nod, regardless of what she did, I knew she was the one to win. I felt that with Iris, Demi and Cat. All are pretty, confident and mesmersing but I guess it is everything that a girl does in all her appearances plus if the stars connect right for her that night, whe will don the crown.

I believe that the one who wins Miss Universe is the contestant who doesn't feel the need to over-pose on a runway and has this natural confidence in them. I would say that at least the last 7 winners had a quality that conveyed confidence without needing to force it.

I also, agree with what you said about no matter what I did Miss France was going to win... Well, this is what I said to myself before and after the Mrs. Mississippi...I did win Mrs. Congenality and I was 2nd in Fitness, the other lady won everything else!! (I honestly thought I was going to win as I was the oldest lady in the pageant!! I hired trainers, coaches and interview coaches and modeling coaches!! (At the time, I was 68 and I competing with ladies who were in their thirties, forties and fifties!! I was pleased with my outcome!! and as my husband said to me, "It is what it is!!" "You know who you are and how wonderful and beautiful!!"

Can I share something similar to this topic. When I watched the telecast of Miss Universe 2020 and it is already top 5, I told myself that Dominican Republic will be 4th runner up and she became 4th runner up. On the other hand, when I saw India during the preliminary show of Miss Universe 2021, I was in awe of her beauty, and eventually she won. Hahaha! In Filipino, we say "kutob" or in English gut feel. I believe it is the closest term based on the description you mentioned.☺☺☺☺
