Similar story, still very young and not married but my partner and I both secretly liked each other throughout high school and prayed that we would love each other, we were both very shy around each other especially when our feelings grew for each other. Towards the end years of high school we started dating and have been together now for 4 years and I can’t wait to marry him. Um... long message ahead...just a warning... You know, something that stuck out to me that Matt said? He said that before he even met glory, he said that he wonder what his future wife is doing and hoped that she’s doing well. That we should look towards the future. I felt that. I never really thought about it, you know. My birthday just past(nov. 14, I’m now 21) and I’m now in my third year of uni. I’m single now and I’ve never had my first love. I mean I dated a guy that I liked alot. So much. But I don’t think he was my first love. And the fact that I’m unsure about that should mean he’s not my first love, right? I’m in no rush either (only 21 so I have a all the time in the world to find my one and only) but matt got me really thinking. I’m just like that, thinking I’m unattractive. Some filter and some makeup always makes people look attractive. I have been told by many people that I am pretty but being told how ugly I am so much in my childhood, takes a toll on a girl you know? So much that you start to believe it. Of course , I always say thank you for the compliment but it’s always that part in the back of my brain that always whispers, “don’t believe it. They’re just being polite. You’re not pretty , don’t ever think that.” Plus I’m very introverted, due to how I grew up, , I’m weird and I’m not that outgoing so I’m always thinking, “you’re very unattractive. You’re an introvert so you’ll never know how to communicate properly with a guy at all, especially if you really like him” . (it’s like that with girls too,. I want to make some new friends with girls. But... it’s really hard when the things you like are different from what they like and they don’t even take the time to understand you or why you like it, especially if it’s not what a “typical” black person would like or do). So, it’ll be hard to find someone who would like me for me, who wants to understand me, is what always go through my head. After being hurt do much, i always have my guard up so it’s hard to let that back down, you know? Especially when you’re an awkward person. Whew...sorry for the crazy long message... didn’t mean to ramble. I didn’t even mean to go on like that but like I said, Matt had me thinking about a lot of things. Basically what I wanted to say, even with this type of thinking, I know, and praying, God will send me the right guy for me. I know he’s searching for the one who will suit me. Just like how you said you did, I’m going to wish and pray that my future husband will be okay. Hope for his health and that when he comes to trouble times, don’t give up and keep going. (I almost cried while writing this.) I really do thank you for sharing your story. I really do hope that your life will be full of prosperity and that when you come to trouble times, that god is there to help show you the way. Love you guys ♥️

Don't think you are ugly,you are absolutely beautiful. I used to be the same way, I am about to be 19 and I had low self esteem for years. No matter what ppl said I thought I was ugly because of how i was treated in school and I was quiet. Though when you gain confidence and allow the love of God to be in you, you will begin to love yourself more than ever. I wonder when my the one God has for me will come too but you just have to wait and keep strong. Have faith and never stop pushing because you are beautiful and great things will come.I also have an issue finding the right girls to he friends with, it is hard because of the same reason you have. I honestly feel the same way. I know I'm pretty realistically talking but I never got told I'm beautiful by the men in my life growing up and it seems like all the men I encounter are mostly interested in sleeping with me and don't actually see me for who I am. I'm 19 and never had a first kiss while all my friends have been in relationships. I feel like I'm behind in life sometimes but I also don't want to be in a relationship just because, if I like somebody I'm in all or nothing. I think I'm coming into my faith but sometimes it's just hard to love God, maybe because it is the most difficult to love myself and promise myself I am worthy of love and God loves me unconditionally. I often dream about what my boyfriend would be like but I have no idea honestly. I pray that they are doing good and that I will meet them at the right time, whenever that may be I am willing to wait ❤️

I met my husband at a club. He came up to me and said that he's going to marry me one day. I thought it was weird and brushed it off and at the end of the night my friend was talking to one of my Hubby's friends. So we got to talking and had so much in common.
