I think everyone would agree it just takes A LOT of patience time and energy. Some people just don’t have that and furthermore don’t know how to prioritize it. I try and succeed with some of these things but some of it (with having 3 kids) just it too difficult for me. I think our personalities take a big part in this way of parenting and how difficult it may be to accomplish if that makes sense. We all learn how to do these things eventually it’s all about how quickly you want your children to learn or well aware you want them to be. I think it’s great overall and I always try to do as much as I can in this way of learning. It’s really cool to watch their little brains work.

I've met families who practiced Montessori whose children grew up to be average in iq and less than perfect in character. I've met absolutely lovely people who practiced Montessori. It's not the only way, but can be a lovely tool.

Here in Sweden, it's typical for children to use metal utensils even as babies ☺️ your setup is both adorable (little chairs! Little cups!) and thoughtful. You're doing a great job!

We use the Ikea Bekvam stool in the kitchen, ever since she could just stand steadily. We used to put it in the corner and then corner her in with our body so she couldn't fall off. But well before 2 y.o. she climbed on it on her own and she stood against the kitchen island. She also used to use it as a seat and table to eat at. That was her own discovery :P

The snack basket idea is great. My son now used real plates and glasses, but we used melanin ones starting out when he was still in the throw and bang stage of learning to eat. Now my daughter use them, and eventually they’ll be passed on to someone else.

It's the Jura Ena9 and it's the most amazing thing in my life except for my kids and husband lol. It was a hand-me-down from my dad. I don't think they make that specific model anymore. The Jura Ena8 is similar: bit.ly/30jV7Le It's super expensive, but if it ever broke I'd sell my things to buy another one lol. I use it everyday, especially these last couple of weeks with Leo in a serious sleep regression!
