How We Moved From Missouri to Florida in Full Detail | Car Talk With The Altem Life

In today's video, we had a suggestion to talk about how we ended up in Florida from Missouri and how we moved. We wanted to do a car talk about our whole moving process from MO to FL. It isn’t easy to pack up everything and move and it seems there will always be a few hurdles but we put our faith in God and moved. We are so happy we did because we love Florida! We are thankful for all of our family for supporting us and helping us during the move. We are thankful that God protected us and that everything worked out well. If you are thinking about moving to Florida, hopefully this can help you out as we don’t regret it one bit!

Move to FL from PA permanently in sept 2020, had a 20’ Uhaul and pulling a trailer with a car. Also used two PODS which went great. Moving from a house with a basement to a slab with no storage was rough, filled a 15 yard dumpster and had a couple yard sales.

We so enjoyed your story on moving here to Florida. We can identify how full your Penske truck was because ours was too!! Luckily one of our friends drove it down while we drove down here with our 2 cats, who were tranquilized. We remember looking at moving during COVID & looking @ Top of the World in Ocala. Then a year later we decided to look at TV & we fell in love with it!! Indeed you were so blessed to have Alex’s parents nearby. Funny, I’m actually hauling it the opposite way.. my quality of life was much much better in Missouri.. it’s insanely expensive and the jobs here don’t pay at all..good luck to you both!

Glad you moved to FL! Your videos have been so helpful for us in our journey to landing in FL. We recently bought a home in the villages and can’t wait to live their full time someday. Did you find job pay to be less in FL from your home state? We find that in our searches from what pay is in our home state of PA.

MO didn’t have a super high pay but cost of living was less. For us, it hasn’t been too much of a difference in rates with different jobs.

😊My Jersey girls daughters moved to a Tampa mailing address, Carrollwood, as the schools are highly rated. They love it there & raising families. I am moving to Bayonet Point/Hudson area by the Gulf. Many new small restaurants in the past two years there. Head north on 19 from Dunedin.

Happy you both made FL your home. We're all reaping the benefits of your move. Our three car garage is PACKED. We park in the driveway. I would TOTALLY buy a house in The Villages based on a video. Hoping that will be our next move. I'm usually the driver, but I won't drive a moving truck. Nope. I used to think Alex's parents lived nearby, because they were often featured in your dining out videos. Moving is torture! I always use movers. I'm always amazed they show up for work again the next day, LOL. Not to be weird, but Tember is so naturally beautiful.

When you relocated to your second home in Florida I’m curious if your location was influenced by the location of your church home as I believe you’re people of faith. Or were there other factors in choosing your new location and you would then seek a church home in your new area? Of course you don’t need to answer but I’m on a church staff in Southwest Florida and we are always interested in seeing believers involved in their local churches.

Hello! Thanks for the question! We knew we wanted to move to a more central location to be closer to more things. We always research churches in the area to see some potential places we could attend once moved. We usually can’t pick a place until we get a house and know for sure where we will be. Then once we move, we attend the churches that we have looked up and go to the one we liked the most. Hope that makes sense!

Any regrets on the move. We have a house in Michigan and in The Villages. We are Florida residents. We spend Summer in Michigan and head South in Oct. My wife and I enjoy your videos especially the restaurant reviews. We eat out often. We find the restaurants in the Villages expensive and quality not meet expectations,

Hello! We looked at Ocala, Winter Garden, Clermont, Inverness, Mount Dora. We lived in Inverness for a couple years and loved it but then wanted to be more centrally located. We hope that helps!

Haha no chance on moving back lol. Definitely higher rates but it also depends on where your house is located as well as when it was built and lots of other factors. Typically it is higher in FL!

@aebberup16 cool! We liked the outskirts of Springfield so like Nixa and Ozark. They are growing but the area is good. Plus you aren’t that far from Branson either so it’s a quick trip to visit all the places there. Safe travels with the move! It’s. It fun to move haha
