I'm so late to learning about you guys but I just wanna say thank you for sharing your story, I'm just scared because there's a guy that i like who is a Christian who also likes me back but we've set our boundaries and kept things to a minimum so we're just the best of friends, i really hope Inshallah i can be with him but he is also very firm on his beliefs, i am gonna stay faithful to Allah and agree that he has the better plan for me, my family want me to marry a bengali muslim and i don't want to but i don't know what the future will bring so ill keep firm on my beliefs and let Allah guide me. I am an Indian Hindu and my husband is an American Christian. Neither of us had to convert and we are happily married.

I think it's wonderful that through your help, he found Islam 🥰 I want to share my story here briefly just because I think it's related and might help someone out too. My husband and I met in high school and were best friends. We grew up in non religious Canadian families and had barely even heard of Islam although I personally had a close Jewish friend and knew a lot about Judaism (I even learned the Hebrew alphabet for fun). Spoiler: this information becomes important 😉. My hubby and I became engaged at 18 but didn't really have the intention of actually getting married since the culture here is generally that marriage is no more than a piece of paper. We moved in together and finished our university education but all the while I felt myself more drawn to detachment from worldly life and I had always been interested in philosophy. I studied theoretical physics and philosophy has always been a huge part of science for humanity. I started realizing that after all these years of accepting the ususal narrative of atheism in science that I actually couldn't rule out the possibility of there being a Creator of the universe. That's how I slowly became agnostic instead of labeling myself as staunch atheist. I had never hated religion or spirituality. In fact, nuns and orthodox Jewish people fascinated me because of how they lived their life in faith instead of only being faithful on certain days of the year or some other way of practicing. I met a Muslimah and we became friends. My husband and I asked her hundreds of questions about Islam lol and she put up with it all 😅 We researched deeply for a year about Islam and I decided to revert. I found that Islam had the beauty of Judaism (which I didn't even know before that they were so similar and both Abrahamic religions) but without some aspects that didn't seem to make sense to me personally. So, even though I was nervous that maybe my husband (then fiancé) wouldn't make the same decision, I was prepared to move out and leave but obviously was hopeful that he would see the light as well with no pressure at all from anyone. About a month and a half later, he took his shahada. Right after it was our first Ramadan and we did our extemely simple nikkah the day after Eid-ul fitr. ❤ I left out so many details since I wanted this comment to be short but it ended up being long anyway.

Salaam and thanks for being part of the live! If he didn't convert, we wouldn't be able to get married because in Islam women can only marry a Muslim. However if he didn't convert, I would have still wanted to be with him and would have stayed patient. Ultimately it was his choice to convert and he did it to feel closer to Allah.

Ok like this is my dream life I want, not the religion I very much respect your choices, but my fiancé and I love you two so much, we love how cute you guys are together and we honestly want to be like you two!! Smh 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s not easy but I’m slowly but surely converting and letting it be known . It’s basically a topic I don’t get into or discuss with my family because they make it so hard . I converted for the right reasons though , and I’m grateful to have met my husband who is from Algeria 🇩🇿 and he showed me islam ☪️ and now here I am . So you are not allowed to talk to boys, but you did talk to this guy for four years about work. And you are not allowed to feel anything for boys , but you did. And then he converted and it's now all ok even though you did things you are not allowed to do, because you did get married. I am confused. (Genuine question not judging). Muslim girls are allowed to talk to boys, as long as the conversation is just for work or for any other necessary conversation. And yes, muslims are human with natural desires so yes muslims can develop feelings towards others, its just how you handle the situation after you know you like this person. We're not allowed to date but that doesn't mean we can't develp feelings.

Lovely story. I married my Muslim husband 11 years ago. We were good friends, and he wanted to marry a Muslim girl.... But we fell inlove. I did not practice any religion but still did belive in God. I started learning more about Islam. We traveled to Morocco and I had a great experience. I wanted to convert. I felt sure about it. But one night we had a deep talk and I realised deep inside I was actually going to convert because I loved him and wanted him to be happy. His family didn't want us to be together at first, but respected his desicion and have always been great with me, so we still got married, and 11 years later I still haven't converted and won't do in the near future although I do fast with my husband.
