I need an ASD0 PCM, I don't care if you pulled the header off already, I can even use just as little as the ROM chip.

Could you let me know what size bolts the case has? ive been needing to grab a bit to take mine apart but haven’t been able to find out what size it takes as everything ive seen seems to have normal or allen key screws instead of the hex like mine does.

Interesting way to remove the large EEV-IV connector, but very unconventional. The conventional way is to used a vacuum operated disordering station like the PACE ST125, which gives excellent results in removing the solder from a plated through hole. Also, if you have a stereo microscope you can actually look into the plated through holes to see if all of the solder has been removed.

This is true, and we do use a vacuum operated soldering station (multiple in fact) for day to day operations. The idea behind this video was to show how to do it at a low cost. Just like our Holley install video, we used no power tools. It was all tools most people would already own.

Absolutely and we use a couple when doing 100s at a time. One thing we like to do in our videos is use basic tools to show how it can be done on a budget.

Has anyone ever tried to recreate the connectors from scratch? 3d printing?

There is actually a company now reproducing them overseas. We have tried them and I wasn’t really impressed. We are looking at having them made as well.

Fyi, the 'chip' with the little glass window is an ole style EEPROM.

Correct, we usually dump the EEPROM and Chip data from each type of ECU to have backups/data to explore.
