Yous seriously will never really know how inspirational your videos are to me, to the fact, its your video that have helped me with my own mindset to experience traveling alone. Ive watched (i think) most of your videos at least once (Hon son loop (sorry about spelling) 3 times). Up until last january when i bit the bullet and had my first solo adventure (Maybe more of a holiday) in Thailand id never even had a proper holiday and at the ripe age of 41, it truely was an experience i never forget and even went back to thailand last month for 3 weeks and sampled a few more of the delights and wonders thailand has to offer in its different cities and im already planning my next trip to go back again in December for New Year again. Im currently coming up to start the 2nd year of my degree and already planning to go PROPER traveling for a year (maybe 18mths) after my graduation (Date plan to start traveling is January 2021) before i start working in Thailand (Been offered a job in Sri Racha on completion of my degree first) and already planning to do the usual south asia countries; Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Burma etc etc but never thought about Sri Lanka. But now after watching your last videos, it now on my first country to visit list and YESSSSS.... i could not think of a BETTER way to start my travel adventure than traveling around Sri Lanka in a TUK TUK. THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting these videos up, MAXIMUM LOVE and RESPECT to the 3 of yous for taking your free time to go on these adventures and putting togeather such a professional videos. Now ive just got 2 years to pass my driving test to really make this happen. Once again, THANK YOU. SAFE TRAVELS and who knows, maybe ours paths will cross in years to come. PEACE

Great stuff. Planning on doing this ! But how cumbersome would it be to drive a TukTuk on in the hill country side - Ella and Nuwara Eliya, is it easy to negotiate the sharp turns and incline in a TukTuk?

Interesting video, though it's pretty one-sided. I'm in SL right now and can't imagine it's gonna be much fun to drive a Tuk Tuk with 2-3 people plus luggage around, especially to the mountains. The 200cc engine wasn't really build for this purpose. So I bet one of you sometimes had to get out because the engine wasn't strong right, uh? 😉 I got a Royal Enfield here with 350cc. Because of the small engine I was very exhausted at the end of the day. But of course, having your own transport is always great 😀

Question - I see your phone hung on the Tuk Tuk, I presume for Google maps etc. However, I thought you needed an internet connection to use it, did you get a local sim with data or what method did you use?

We used both methods, used local sim with data but also just used offline maps(maps.me app), since we did not have coverage everywhere. 😁👍

We only nearly ran out of petrol once, on the East Coast. But otherwise they are everywhere. Just don't let yourself get to below 1/4 tank... You also have a reserve tank for emergencies

3:52 is that guy being legit, sarcastic, or what? anyways, don't pay attention to him. traveling by the government state public bus is very safe, extremely affordable (maybe $5 going from galle to jaffna), and the bus routes are so well connected. you can just stand down the main road and hail the bus down. it was my main route of travel when i went on a solo budget travel in sri lanka for 3 weeks.
