You have learned in one year of homeschooling what takes some people many years to learn....that is to change and adapt to your child and your circumstances. Your children are receiving and incredible education from all that they are being exposed to in your travels. Way to go you guys!! Be encouraged by your successes and learn from your failures.

This was such an incredible post. I am literally crying because you are like the perfect message from God that I needed right now. We are currently packing up our house, selling, and giving away our things to go on the road and roadschool over the next school year. One of my boys has ADHD and high-functioning autism, so the part of my kids having rough days too, really resonated with me. I am TERRIFIED of screwing up my kids! But this video helped me in so many ways (bonus- we're from kansas too) and I am truly truly grateful. You didn't just make it seem like everything was amazing, the struggles are real, but everything will be ok. Thank you! 💜

Hugs momma. You are on the right track just by how concerned you are. You got this. You are not going to screw anything up. Just love on those kiddos and the rest will come with time and practice. Best wishes as you set out on your adventure. ❤

I just absolutely love what you are doing with your family. Your kids lives are being enriched. And they and you are having a great time. Enjoy the day, while you can. Life has a way of changing our circumstances. You guys are made for this. Your videos are fun, snappy, and well done! The end of the video made me realize my testosteron is a little low. Haha

Thank you for sharing this. We transitioned from public school to homeschool this past school year. I often have doubts/worry about if they're learning enough. It's just nice to hear the "real talk" about how it's not always easy and that other people go through the same feelings. Thanks for the encouragement! (new subscribers here!)

This is beautiful. My husband is an RN and we have 2 boys, a 10 year old , almost 8 year old, and a 3 year old daughter. We are really wanting to start this process. We chose to homeschool our kids this year. We started out with the blossom and root curriculum and switched to easy peasy which we really love.

That was an awesome review of your roadschool year! I've been homeschooling for 4 years with 3 kids and still have my own "locked in the bathroom, full of doubts" moments. Being flexible with changing up your structure and/or curriculum is such a blessing! I also loved the testing idea you tried. I might have our Iowa kiddos try that just for my own knowledge of how they rank. Keep on keeping on Roadschool Mom, you're doing great, and I love the videos too!!

Thanks so much for your encouragement! It's so funny that I really thought in the beginning that structure was key and how fluid and unplanned our year became in the end. We love the flexibility!

I just love your humility and honesty. I began homeschooling last year too, so we are a year in before starting the the full-time life just so it wasn't as much of an extreme change all at once. I 100% have spent nights sobbing in bed telling my husband I feel like I'm failing our kids. I give you SO many props jumping into both at the same time! I think if I had done that it would have broken me. Lol. This lifestyle I feel will be so difficult but so incredibly rewarding in the end when our kids are grown and have retained so much knowledge because what they have learned wasn't just in books, but in front of them and actually applicable! Congratulations on finishing the first year! Hope to meet you in Denver before we begin our journey! :)

You are my spirit animal! Lol. We have been researching and following you as well as many other families for a while now and are working on transitioning into full time RV living as well. I have a 7 year old daughter who is heading into 2nd grade and a 5 year old son heading into kinder. I have so much anxiety about the idea of homeschooling on the road and dealing with the realities of living in such a small space, and making sure the kids are being challenged academically AND socially. THAT is my biggest fear. I dont want to jeopardize my daughters momentum by bringing her home and I dont want to jeopardize my sons jump start into all things kindergarten. Your video was very inspiring, so thank you for the vote of confidence. Ps...you guys were just in our area a few weeks back. We live in Dayton NV. 😊

Awesome! I wish we would have known and could have met - we spent a week in Dayton and LOVED the BLM land out there. I'm glad to be of any help or encouragement with road school. It's super scary at first - at least it was for me. But we are very pleased with how everything turned out and looking forward to our next school year. :) Best wishes to you as you get started!

Your video is amazing and so appreciated. We are getting ready to embark on a very big journey with our 6 children and living on the road In an RV traveling and selling our home in Colorado but my main question is do we have to follow Colorado homeschool laws or how does that work if we aren’t planning on being here much anymore since we will be living on the road

Thanks for watching and I'm glad it was helpful. :) As I understand it, you need to follow the rules of the state where your permanent address is. That would be the state that is considered "home" for your taxes and voting and Drivers license. We started in KS but later we bought a house in AZ. We followed KS laws until we purchased our home in AZ and switched everything over but both were pretty similar. I did live in Colorado for 5 years before all of this but we didn't homeschool then so I'm not sure what the laws are there.

Honestly I don't use it anymore but I originally got it from the Easy Peasy website. It was a download. I don't see it on their website anymore. :( I just keep their books as attendance now.

Not that I noticed but honestly I didn't look. I will say many questions have the option to hear the audio of the question. If my kids had to read all the directions and questions without that it would have taken much longer.
