Here are the tools I use
amzn.to/3JuTBZK
Skinning palm trees in las vegas
its a costly price, so clients usually do 6ft every year
we use carpenter knives, haul all the debris away as well.
I advise homeowners not to try this at home because its of the risk of cutting yourself, any time of infestations, etc
please hire a professional.
Any questions or comments, please let me know in the comments below. thank you!

How tall should the tree be before doing this and how far up should you go I'm assuming not all the way up also we had that freeze here in Texas all my leaves turned brown should I cut them all off and I've noticed mold on some and the new shoots growing in
@mr.benitezhimself
@mr.benitezhimself 3 жыл бұрын
The height doesn’t necessarily matters, you can skin a palm and the palm will let you know when you’re going to high up when you start seeing a very moisturized trunk or bark. I remove all the dead palm fronds and any damaged green fronds. Hope that helps 🌴

The palm usually lets you know when to stop when you’re removing wet/moist skin… You only want to remove the dry skin. Hopefully that makes sense

How do you know if they are ready to be skinned? My dog got torn open on one of my palms so I wanted to skin them, but the first few I peeled back were white at the trunk and had a lot of moisture still.

You want to skin from the base up. Never from the top down.
@AnthonyAce9060
@AnthonyAce9060 3 жыл бұрын
@@mr.benitezhimself I did start from the base, but my palms only have maybe four to five feet from the ground to where the shoots come out. I think maybe they are still too young. How do you know where to stop when moving up the trunk?
@mr.benitezhimself
@mr.benitezhimself 3 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyAce9060 your palm is definitely too young to be skinned. Maybe a ft or two. That’s pushing it if the palm is only 4-5ft You will know the second you pull off skin and it has a lot of moisture. You will be harming the palm of you skin any higher

Wow Hollywood this guy isn't I'm not sure if he was auditioning or just demonstrating his palm tree skinning skill level I actually didn't learn a damn thing watching him except his continual efforts to shine on the cameras at were ripping through the motions of peeling skin off of palm tree and the talking was muffled and I'd say he's got something that he needs in his little assistance perhaps someone to narrate for him slow down not everybody has your skill start slow how do you hold the tool and why aren't you wearing proper PPE demonstrating safety hard hat safety glasses gloves steel toe you know orange vest anything I didn't get anything out of this good luck on your next one if there is one. Sincerely Mr bord stiff

Who’s trying to be Hollywood? You? Cause we’re palm tree trimmers. You are a lawn and yard guy. So I can see why you need so much h help in regards to “HOLDING” a tool. If you need such help, just stick to trimming bushes and blowing yards.
@mr.benitezhimself
@mr.benitezhimself 3 жыл бұрын
I wear all my PPE when I’m climbing, running a chainsaw, etc. I will continue making these skinning videos. A lot of people get value from them, but what I do notice is it’s ALWAYS a lawn guy, or a landscaper who wants to put there 2 cents in... and something so petty like PPE, how to hold a tool, (😅) , not using commas in your prolonged rant. Anyway. Don’t die or cut yourself trying to do what tree climbers and arborists’ do, good luck ✌🏽 Ps: I see where all you landscaper and lawn guys come from, I start from the same roots. But, learn to talk to people with respect. Don’t just talk out of your a**. If you have questions, there are ways to come correct. 💯
