Mr Benitez trimmed and skinned 2 very tall palms for me about 2.5 years ago. Great time. Money well spent. Trees look great. Glad I didn’t have to clean up or haul away.

I do this craft in Florida. The trees out west look so much dryer and I notice when the fronds are removed, they are cutting close to the body and creating flap with the petioles. My craft is similar and I would put my trees up against any… Dang! Wish we could post pictures!

Aye!! Are you an arborist ? I like the terminology you used These days u don’t cut too close (flush cuts) When I first started 4-5 years ago, I didn’t know any better

The tree will tell you when to stop. I’ve had customers wanting me to go beyond the limit… I tell them no. 180-45 degrees on canopy, fronds come off with 4-6 inches remaining. Shaving is done one level at a time and Florida trees get so much cleaner because of humidity. Out west palms are so dusty!!

Great work! California palms is among my favorites. A combo with California palm and a large Brahea Armata next to it is hard to beat. What is the least cold hardy palms you see growing in Las Vegas? Ever encountered Bismarcks, queens or maybe Robilinis etc there?
@mr.benitezhimself8 ай бұрын
Great question! Sago & queen palms usually don’t do well during the winter.
@mr.benitezhimself8 ай бұрын
Is a Bismarck the same as a sable palm ? Cause they look a little similar If so, yes I do come a Bismarck often, queen palms 24/7 , and robilinis , yes They thrive here in the desert 🏜️
@Rocketman04078 ай бұрын
@@mr.benitezhimself cool, Bismarcks are slightly more hardy than queens I think. No, Bismarck and Sables are not the same even though there is some Sables that look very similar to it like Sable Uresana. Bismarck is a Blue/Silver fan palm from Madagascar it gets gigantic both vertically and horizontally and grows fast in very hot wheater.

Can I ask why you didn't clean all the complete palm? Is because you miss the gear or the person judt want a bit of the palm or always is important to let some of the stuff for the healthy of the palm?
