This is a little tutorial on how we tie our twine in our round baler. The knot is very similar to a sheet bend but it isn't the same.

Nice knot buddy, here in uk we use the old Reef Knot. Left over right. Right over left and trim..

That's the way I tie but never thought of the direction it travels. Learn something every day. That baler a good one.

I love the baler we always tied square knots but 25 years ago when we moved to round balers we had knot problems once in a while so we tied this knot instead and it has never failed me lol thanks for watching

the right knot for the application makes all the difference in correct functionality. I am amazed with your high temps. to be as far north as you are I'd never thought you'd be dealing with 100° F plus temps. thanks for the video. :)

These high temps are higher than normal but we've had years like this before, the one thing that works for us is it will get 55F tonight so we do get a break at night.

This is a great tip, and simple and easy to do!! Can see a distinct benefit to tying this way!!! Always just tie a square not, but I do like this better!!! And you don't have to trim off the ends, which really make it better!!

Oil chains when there hot = when your done baling or anywhere in between as needed. I use hydraulic oil, stays the best and does a good job. Run the baler at lowest idle using a pump oil can.

If we ground all our hay like you guys I'd pay the extra $9000 for net wrap on the baler but we fight that shit when it is all frozen on. My friend does nothing but net wrap but every bale goes through his hay buster. The friend I bale the hay for will only let me use twine because he has fought with it to. My cousin sells for JD and when he orders the balers they don't even have twine boxes wrap only. Thanks for watching Ted

Good video that's for making it. I never can get mine to pull through it always misses a knot. It goes through the tentioner but not the knotter. Prolly half me and half my old knotters lol. U must be colder blooded than me if it's 100 round here I sure don't have long sleeves on lol
@AndersonCattleCo
@AndersonCattleCo 7 жыл бұрын
I don't wear anything but long sleeves years ago I would wear T shirts but my arms would always get cut up working on stuff and I worked for 20 years off the farm where I had to wear long sleeve coveralls everyday no matter what the temp was so I'm just used to it. Those old knotters can be tricky We had a baler that you knew when a bale broke that the twine ball switched lol

My small square Baler, I sometimes have trouble when it goes from one ball to the next, is that an issue with bigger twine?
@AndersonCattleCo
@AndersonCattleCo 7 жыл бұрын
We had problems with our older balers but it isn't a problem anymore especially with this knot , but it doesn't have to feed into a knotter. I know the big square guys like OLF are pretty fussy about tying a good knot with the tails trimmed.

Twine is cheaper, I like twine better in the winter when the bales are icy and frozen

BC has huge fires and are air quality is very poor some days. We are not as humid as you guys by the lakes are. I have an Aunt that lives at Guelph and last time she was out we were all running to the basement and she said this is nothing and worked in the garden.lol

My uncle is a professor at the University . My great Grandpa moved to the mountains because of his asthma that cool mountain air agreed with him, but he had to be careful when it was really cold so he didn't lose his air so I've been told he has been gone longer than I've been alive .

Didn't understand after you grab the two ends how and where you did pull them. Tried that for at least 10 times but I can't do it, I'm loosing my patience, just swearing😂🤬 I usually get rid with the easiest normal tie but yours is much more better, I admit. 😀

I don't like "Polly" twine. Thissal baling twine. Poly will never rot. Pure old square knot with a small amount of grease works good on poly twine. Net wrap is cheaper than twine.
@AndersonCattleCo
@AndersonCattleCo 5 жыл бұрын
net wrap costs 4 times as much as twine, when we baled little bales we used sisal twine but poly twine works better in round balers and I would never put grease on any twine. Square knot is great on square bales
