Amazing detail! I'd always wondered why Abelton was so popular, and now I can see a LOT of application for it.

Yeah, my "native language" is Logic, but it's been a treat to learn Ableton this year.

Could you please make a video where you explain how to set up a midi inter application control for ableton for the STOP & PAUSE? I didn't understood how to do it? That will be great. Anyway great video thanks.

I like your template. Are you using Sibelius for notation and then it transfers to Ableton?

Super interesting way of using Ableton! Could you explain exactly what's on these STOP, PAUSE AND, REPEAT tracks please?
@joshuaskaja78732 жыл бұрын
Yes! Each of those clips has a midi note mapped to a button-stop, the next locator, or the previous locator. Those midi notes are routed through “inter application control” so Ableton can send itself messages. There’s a 50ms delay on the “pause & go to next” button so it doesn’t get gummed up by the “stop” button. I learned this from Will at From Studio To Stage-he might have a video on it (and if not I’ll make one).

I cant find the option LEADER in a MIDI track. I think its not a MIDI track you use for the TEMPO but and AUDIO track. In fact is also written in your track SAMPLE right after CLIP. Could be that you're using an empty audio sample instead of an empty midi track?
@joshuaskaja78732 жыл бұрын
Yes, you’re absolutely right-it’s an empty *audio* clip that holds the tempo information. Sorry for any confusion!

😂 I can definitely see Will's ground work here from "fromstudiotostage" But this seems like a lot of work. How long does it take you to set all of this up and do you perform every weekend?

Oh yeah I definitely learned this from Will! This band does a couple two-week tours, a longer holiday tour, and a bunch of one-off fly dates. Different singers from one tour to the next = different set lists. Working from the master set list it takes less than an hour. Still looking to go to Ableset so I can just change them on the fly.
