My high schooler started Dennison Algebra this year because it includes a book with a great layout, with online lessons. Perfect combination. Glad this is working for your family!!

@@alexandrabohon2671 We are so happy with Dennison Algebra! I've had to ask some questions along the way and Mr. Dennison has been so helpful and responsive. He's an encouraging teacher and the physical book along with the video lessons has been exactly what my daughter needed!

I’m curious what you used for math in the past… we are using TGATB Math this year for my fifth grader and I agree with you, I think the spiral is too much for his ADHD brain. Also, LOVE your binder system - I will definitely be using when we make the switch here soon. Thank you so so much for this video!

So, for my current 8th grader, I was using the Good and the Beautiful. She did 4th and 5th grade and I had purchased 6th grade before things started to fall apart for her towards the end of 5. So, she sampled a few math programs and picked this one. Then, when my 4th and 5th boys started to struggle with Teaching Textbooks Math 4, I moved them over to this as well. It's been a lot better for us this year.

That’s right where we are - end of 5th grade, about 25 lessons to go and it’s tears and anxiety everyday. Looking forward to making this change to CTC and your system makes me feel more organized and confident going in completely new. Thank you again for sharing even your struggles - solidarity sister!

@katiegallagher3831 yep… exactly there… I don’t think we even finished the level. I think CTC Math had a sale at the time so I just got it and we got started.

What grades do you have? I’m happy to share what I have made, or I can show you my process on how I create them. There are lesson lists on the CTC Math Facebook group so I just take those and reconfigure.

@@katiegallagher3831 in the Facebook group, go to files. They will have excel sheets with the lesson lists. I copy and paste the info and make the grid the way I want for my kids.

Just an FYI. I have been considering CTC math for my kids for next year. Their Facebook group does not let you in unless you have a paid membership, so no asking questions there of parents currently using the curriculum.

Nothing wrong with working below grade level!!! I have kids below grade level and they go faster when able and we school year round!!! We need mixed review and idk how often!!!

Thank you very much! We did this the first several years of homeschooling, then gradually switched to a more traditional schedule for my oldest. He’s graduating this year and we are moving back to a year round schedule. I need sone reminders and ideas. I really appreciate your videos!

@@momofmany6619 thank you for the encouragement! As my older 2 are moving into high school, I’m still not quite ready to abandon the year round style of schooling. I am thinking that getting started on high school credits early will help me to be able to just have my girls finish their high school courses when they finish them and not force us into a traditional schedule. But that will probably depend a lot on any outside or online classes they may be signing up for.

@@CalmintheChaosHomeschool we have a 5 year age gap between our oldest two kids, so one is graduating and one is moving in to high school. She asked me to return us to year round. It definitely can be done! I just wanted to give my oldest a schedule he liked, but I am so excited and relieved to return to year round. My younger kids will be entering grades 3, 5, and 7 next year. They are happy about year round too! My 7 year old asks me why we can’t do school after church on Sundays. 😂

So we have been homeschooling for two years now and my boy turned 8 a month ago and he is just not getting it beyong simple multiplication. We have work books and apps but I wanna wipe the slate clean, do you think CTC math is a good replacement for all of that?
