Culture is how we have lived our life over time. It's our simple way of doing life. Even though culture keeps on evolving as we mingle with the rest of the world, we still keep some of our African traditions. Today, I'll bring you into my world and show you how we have been washing our African hair over the years, through generations. Hope you enjoy the video! Be sure to leave your comments and make this an interruptive session!

Hi Sharon! You’re such a lovely young lady. I too don’t wash my hair every day. When I was younger and worked in an office, I did wash my hair daily. But since I’m older and my hair texture has changed, I wash every other day. Sometimes three days apart. If I haven’t done a lot I’ll wait and wash on a third day. But usually every other day. When I was younger, my mother would not let me cut my hair. I didn’t cut it until I was eighteen!! It grew very long. It was down past my knees!! It was very pretty. But there were many times I’d beg my mother to cut it. Idk if you know who Farrah Fawcett was but she was a famous actress. She has since passed due to cancer. But I wanted my hair cut like hers so badly. It’s funny how you change in life. I was so tired of long hair by the time I turned eighteen I cut my hair! Through the years I’ve had long hair, really short hair (short like a man’s hair) and everything in between. Now at sixty, my hair grows sorta slow and doesn’t grow past my shoulders! I wish it would grow longer sometimes but idk. I tend to keep it short. Around my chin or so. It’s just easier for me. At my age I don’t want to spend a whole lot of time in my hair. For years I did and well, those days are long gone. I enjoyed your video. Take care my dear. ❤️💜💚 Oh! I watching from Utah, USA!

Hello! It's great to hear from you again! Thank you for the compliment and for writing in. I just imagined how long and beautiful your hair was- past your knees now that is really long! Hahaha when you are young you are barely at the mercies of your parents so I totally understand why your mother didn't cut your hair until you were 16 years old 😍. I checked out Farah online and her hair is really beautiful 😍 and I totally understand why you wanted your hair like hers. It's great we are learning that with age, hair also grows less. Though short hair is also very beautiful...my mum has kept hers short for the longest and she looks amazing! 😍

Beautiful hair, but pls use black soap because the soap you’re using maybe some perfumes but black shea butter to is the best❤

You shouldn't comb your hair while it has shampoo. It will tear your ends. You will have split ends.

Thank you for your thoughtful insight. The shampoo though had a conditioner to make the hair soft .
