Welcome to TN!!!! What town in KY is your hometown Tasha?! I just made the cross country move from Northern California to KY myself. We are still living with family and looking for a rental or to buy our first home too! Loving it in the south so far. We are the family that just had our baby girl in August (I was 7 months pregnant during the road trip) but we lost her at 10 days old and you graciously shared the gogund me to help me bury our precious angel. Couldn't thank you enough for doing so.... you two have a huge space in my heart as I've been following and a patreon member for 3 years now and feel like you are friends! Dawn...this made me tear up. I too lost a child; however, my son Cameron was 25 when he got his wings. A friend shared this info. It gives me such peace to think that a part of Cameron is still inside me. Hopefully, it will give you peace too...to know your sweet baby girl is still inside you. PS What is your daughter's name? When pregnant, the cells of the baby migrate into the mothers bloodstream and then circle back into the baby, it’s called “fetal-maternal microchimerism”.⁠ For 41 weeks, the cells circulate and merge backwards and forwards, and after the baby is born, many of these cells stay in the mother’s body, leaving a permanent imprint in the mother’s tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and often stay there for decades. Every single child a mother has afterwards will leave a similar imprint on her body, too.

I was 8 mo. pregnant with my first (and only Son), and his father and I moved from Arizona to Colorado. I had two weeks to unpack, clean the house, put down contact paper, get the baby's room ready, and I made bathroom curtains too! I was two weeks late, so I had a month. I still don't know how we got it all done, but we were young. You both have so much energy, enthusiasm, and drive, that you'll be moved in and ready for your baby in no time. Dave don't underestimate what that baby will change in your wife. If all she does is feed her baby and love on your baby for the rest of 2024 that is a blessing beyond what you can even understand at this moment. Don't put any pressure on her to create or do anything else this year. She will be so sleep deprived and her body will take months and months to go back to a balance. Unless you all have help. Then I'm sure she can feel creative too. I'm a professional with two degrees and once I had my baby I only wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. I know I have a boy's name but don't bother me about that. So sometimes people go from being complete professionals to only wanting to nest, especially that first year

You both are so fun to listen to with your new chapter beginning right before our eyes! I say let Tasha decorate your studio…she wants what’s best for you as you do for her. Two weeks before our first son was born, we moved…just to a 2-bedroom apartment from a 2-bedroom house in the same city. I realized that he didn’t care if everything was “ready”. He just needed us to be happy he was there and to take care of him. He is now 46 years old and still a delight to the old mother’s heart. His younger brothers, 43 and 39 respectively, are pretty amazing, too. Enjoy the process and don’t be afraid of the unknown. All the best to your sweet family. ❤

I've been working for myself the past few years in the bookish world: freelance copy editor and proofreader, and Bookstagrammer. It gets discouraging when I feel people don't see my posts or the algorithm doesn't choose to show it. I miss the days of when Instagram was about photography, because it fees like unless you're making reels all the time, things aren't gonna happen. I've been toying with the idea of starting a bookish KZbin channel with "Read with Me" videos, but have definitely been scared to start. In this regard, fear sort of just paralyzes me or makes me procrastinate at the very least-some kind of avoidance. Anyways, thanks for this talk! It was like talking to friends for me and I've saved this to my "favorites" to watch again and again when I need the encouragement. Good luck with the move!
