Personally, once I suspect this type of manipulation is in play, I simply close the window. Clicking the box is not an option if the choices go against your better judgement. Additionally, if somehow the site locked you into making a unwanted choice the next best step is to shutdown your browser or power down your computer. You decide it you want to be manipulated or inconvenienced. And above all make a note to never revisit the offending site. Pass along this information to friends and family at every opportunity. With your non participation the purveyors of this trash will take notice and perhaps, modify their behavior. .
