My elderly neighbor in Northwestern PA has a dead grass patch of lawn. We removed the dead grass and I was ready to reseed until I visually noticed why. GRUBS. LOTS AND LOTS OF GRUBS. WOULD YOU RECOMMEND WAITING UNTIL NEXT YEAR TO DO ANYTHING? I normally lime the yard in late fall. Ty. Great video.

Is it recommended to apply grub prevention product when the ground is soft via watering and/or applying with the morning dew? I noticed you watering 3-4 days after applying but wasn't sure of ideal conditions when actually applying.

Liquid or granular grub control? Which do you recommend? And when is a good time during the day to apply? We have temperatures at 80 degrees at 7 in the morning. Thanks JTLK
@Ricochet622
@Ricochet622 5 жыл бұрын
Charlie Howard I personally prefers granular, easier to apply compare to a liquid hand can. You’re also less likely to mess up. You can apply it anytime, but most important thing is you gotta water it in after application. And best time to water is during the sunrise or sunset when you’re not wasting a bunch of water that’s gonna get evaporated when it’s mid day.

Hey, man, I'm ALWAYS on the side of people who aggressively do WORK and post helpful videos. This is really practical, too- I like the "chemicals only when necessary" philosophy. But MAN, when you DO use these chemicals, I'm tellin' ya, it's hard for me to believe it's not going to wash into the creek when it rains, which then runs into the river- where i fish and drink. Do I want this stuff in my food and water?

You can add fertilizer, especially an organic like Milo or Ringer. It's only gonna help! Also, I wouldn't worry about grub preventative right now, save that for early June, right after the Japanese beetles emerge.

To Jake. I'm in Chgo and it;s Nov. 10th. Is it too late to apply a grub killer? If so, when should I? Next spring? My lawn comes up, nice & hearty, then dies to blotchy-patches, in some spots, in the same areas-almost. . I'm ready to call a "service" but can't afford it :( Does ANYONE have any ideas?
@JakeTheLawnKid

If you are still a kid - man, by the time you get to being an old codger, you will be one of the worlds best - and probably snapped up by the team at Augusta. One thing a young fella like you probably doesn't think about much - is safety - you might want to start profiling safety equipment like respirators, rubber boots, gloves, spray suits and maybe the odd mention that ANY material can cause health issues - this includes water, which can contain legionaries disease - just say'in!
