The main reason for all these problems is hidden. You are exporting your parents parents soil to other countries in the form of livestock and your not thinking about the depletions of the soils. Start farming soil and fighting erosion. Thanks for allowing me to share..

So," Cattle will be gone buy 2035 ". Is that is statement of intent or a prediction. People sitting in offices making decisions about peoples lives based on opinion and trend. We should support all farmers crop and pasture. At the same time as supporting innovative change within industries, as seen in the last segment. Legislating hardworking people into ruin is criminal. Change yes, misguided bureaucratic tyranny no.

They are saying dairy cow farming will be an obsolete technology by 2035, just like internal combustion engines will be replaced at about the same time, along with coal mining/energy plants. Trying to preserve the old ways is hidebound insanity. It would be like past generations trying to hang onto traditional textile production using hand-looms, or whale-oil lighting, or presently coal mining, oil, and internal combustion engines for power. Keeping the past alive when something better comes along is nuts. RethinkX is very likely correct, with the exact timing of 2035 not certain but it'll be close to a decade from now that diary farmers start to collapse. It's not going to be hard to produce casein and whey proteins more efficiently than the current dairy industry methods, along with milk fat. They are already making identical yogurt and ice cream with precision-fermentation proteins. Precision fermentation has been around for over forty years, is scaled up already and is improving at a very rapid pace with genetically-modified organisms getting better faster than Moore's Law for computing. It's a technology that can't be stopped at this point, and will surely swallow traditional dairy farming, which is so nasty and inefficient. Future generations will not miss traditional animal farming. Making a good drinking milk is harder to get all the chemicals right along with milk texture, but that will come in time too. They will also be able to make a very good human breast milk for babies, far healthier for us than cow milk, and any other kind of animal milk that tastes good, all at the same price. They will also be able to produce milk fat at huge scale, and make milk with any fat content they want. Cheeses will greatly improve as this change takes hold. Precision fermentation dairy will make far better products than traditional animal dairy within a few decades, and that disparity will only get wider over time. Cow dairy farming at large scale is on its last legs, literally.

@@charliedoyle7824 Fermentation is among one of the oldest technologies now that you mention it. That said, modern applications do show great promise for many purposes. However my source will remain a locally owned dairy. They utilize the bio dynamic pasture method and are fully organic. You can call that old fashioned if you want, will take it as a compliment. 😉

@@raclark2730 small organic dairies will survive. I'm not saying all cow farming will go away. Just the large-scale nasty stuff will collapse. But over time the cellular-ag foods will be cheaper and have far more variety.

While some seem to be committed to one way or the other; To me it's obvious to do what is best. In using mostly produce that is produced within my country. In keeping strong meat dishes, those that are purely or mostly meat, as a celebration or a treat. I mean... It's not so difficult. You see a problem, you adapt to it. Bonus points for in season. More bonus points if that both saves you funds and enriches your life. The best cooking is always about working miracles with the basic ingredients in any case. Flour, butter, milk, salt, sugar, eggs, some basic vegetables, some herbs and spices, a bit of meat, any meat really. What you can do with these things alone are wondrous. Some try to bring color to their lives through consuming the exotic, or the rare. Or miraculous health by eating some or other marketed wonder food from some far place. I find it's way more fulfilling to find sophistication through knowledge and technique, with what you have readily available.

Some of the animal farms look like torture, especially for, those poor pigs in metal crates and unable to move, it's vile, although I think the lab grown meat sounds dodgy as well, so I'll stick with plants.

The problem with animal agriculture is the feed has to come from somewhere. Much of the feed comes from Brazil in the form of soy and the rainforest are being decimated. Humanity will have to reduce meat consumption.

If done properly the feed should be coming from the ground itself. Feed lots are a forcing not a standard.

When I see that poor people can eat meat almost everyday, that’s when i realize we’re in a deep sh’t. So I became vegetarian, as my form of protesting! .. buy local products, stopped tagging places/brands/ restaurants, etc to social media…. All these madness!! Is crazy!
