I'm playing PoGO alone, and it's not going to change. Being in Instinct in my city is difficult enough gym-wise, and having a group of people as a requirement to take down a gym would make it completely impossible for me. I hope they won't screw me, and other lone players up.

I actually don't mind the group thing because in my area we sort of already do with a Facebook closed group page and we coordinate our attacks on gyms. BUT living in village / semi-rural area, we sometimes have to ride 20 minutes (car not bike) to get to gyms. So the warnings Nick suggests, that one of your gyms is under attack, would be pointless. Only good in cities, and even then only if you play in the area around where you live.

Hello Nick. The game offers no advantages to level 40 players, so i doubt there is a special unlockable clothing for us level 40 players. In fact i feel that we are left out, because we cannot even power up our pokemon past level 39. So the level 38 players have same CP pokemon as us, and even higher if they previously used the triple tap trick. Maybe you can talk about this in a future video, because i really feel that i get nothing out of being level 40. No power ups, no new unlockable items, no clothing, no rewards.. nothing really.

We have 8 million XP difference and they have better pokemon than us level 40 players.

In relation to trading, why not have a "trading post" make specific poke stops or gyms double up. Someone could drop a Pokemon off and request a trade another player could then rock up and make the trade. Players would naturally be drawn to such and area so you could also do the whole distance trading thing also and maybe add an incentive to do that over dropping a Pokemon off in the trading post. I think this would solve any issue regarding trading and benefits all players.

Asif Sohail... I for one who live in a rual town do not like this idea at all... I have to drive to near by towns that are 20 mins from me... I count on them getting beefed up to level 10 gyms so I can hold them... Otherwise it is just to much wear and tare on me and my vehicle to get to these areas to have gyms every day. Clearing gyms will only hurt the players like me who do not spoof... This will not hurt the spoofers at all who are sitting at home playing from their chair... Only legit players out their walking and driving to these areas to have gyms.

You could just meet other women and young people? I'm female with long hair, age 19, the local kids come talk to me playing Pokemon GO. You know, I'm also a scout leader for kids the same age as them, but they don't know that, it's just that I look nonthreatening and invested in the game, and follow social norms regarding personal space. (I take and give lots of it.) I would prefer meeting people my age, but kids are rather nice company actually, too, I don't mind changing a few words while taking down a gym together. I would be careful if trading with kids though - I might not do it at all, because there's the possibility that they can't say no even if they want to, because as an adult you are higher in the power structure. I'd say only trade with a kid if they insist on it and have several of that pokemon they are giving away and make sure they are not giving their best or favourite one. I guess traders could be abused in some way, like poke stop spinners can be robbed, but I think trading would most likely take place at poke stops and gyms where PoGo players gather anyway, in public spaces, in daylight, with players that happen to be there. You have to be within a range to battle a gym, and if there are other people battling it too, you are within speaking distance with them. Still that's not so close, people pass you nearer in the streets all the time. So I don't think trading with a stranger would be more dangerous than that. Of course, only do things that you are comfortable with. I live in country where generally strangers are quite shy and safe in daylight. I'm looking forward to meeting more my-age people through playing.

I know a lot of people are wondering where Phanphy and Donphan's biomes are and I was hoping I could be of some help. I live in Alabama and we don't have tall buildings or anything, but we are definitely not a small town. We get a ton of grass Pokémon and bug Pokémon (so many paras....) including bellsprout, oddish, and Pinsir. Also, I hardly get any good spawns out here with the rarest thing before Gen 2 was a Machamp. However, when Gen 2 came out, I have noticed an increased spawn rate of rare Pokémon drastically. I caught a Thyphosion and a Venusaur was on my nearby (couldn't find it). A lot of people have been saying Phanphy and Donphan are as rare as Grimer and Muk and have no definite biome. I can agree with Grimer since I have only seen one on my nearby and hatched one in the 7 months I have been playing. However, I have caught a Donphan and caught at lest 8 Phanphy and seen about 15. I don't know what this has to do with anything, but I was hoping this would help someone out. Love the channel!

Can I suggest something? You can keep your glasses on for Q&As. Just get a CPL filter. (Circular polarizer) It gets rid of glare. At least test it out and see if it works. They could set up trading locations at pokestops and have it be you need to be within x distance (500 yds) of that pokestop. Then you can submit a request like "I'm looking for x will trade for y" or an open ended "I'll trade y for whatever x you want to offer" and then another person can accept/reject. Something similar to like what runescape had would be cool too. Like a massive trading hub (Center of a city/courthouse/main park areas) where you can leave a pokemon with a request and someone can come and fulfill it, then the original trader gets a notification that it's been filled. It's less face-to-face than what Niantic would want but it's safer.

Hey guys if you use your tracker to track pokemon to a stop and then spin the wheel while it still has the pink footsteps over it your chance of getting a evolution item increases somewhat. when you look at medals under your character page it has things like +1-3 bonus on your catches based on your current medal rank. that could have something to do with how often you get critical captures on Pokémon types.

All they need to do is make the gym control by TEAM ROCKET (AI bots) , for every Pokémon you beat , you get 1 coin , beat 10 Pokémon 10 coins , a daily MAX of 100 coins . Problem solved!

Pokemon is a turn based battle really, always has been and prefer that. But an alternative (like many games "COC" ) does so well to notify you if someone is taking your gym down. Maybe a 30 second window to jump on and defend your gym. Maybe the first to react can swap dodge and use all pokes in that gym. Just a thought

( you say the Consumer does ) Your car example (one which hard-line Gun advocates use a lot) : Cars are not designed so that their proper use requires the driver steer their car into contact with other cars or objects. So, Drivers ought not to expect that they will be harmed simply BECAUSE they used their car in its intended way. It is MISUSE of the car by other drivers that has the potential to cause harm to the driver (When the driver is using the car properly) Face to Face Trading: Telling a total stranger where you will be, and at what time you will be there is an inherently dangerous activity, and any person who does that creates a scenario which introduces them new potential dangers. If while using Face-to-Face trading in PG in its intended proper way, players are required to make meet up plans with strangers , that would mean that Niantic is instructing its players to take part in an inherently dangerous activity. And, because of that Niantic would likely be held responsible for any harm that came to players who were following Niantic’s instructions. This is TOTALLY different from the old issues of Tresspassing, and players getting hit by cars, etc: Do I think Niantic is responsible for players who walk into traffic because they aren’t paying attention to the cars whizzing by them? NO. of course not. Walking into traffic isn’t a required part of the game. Do I think Niantic would be responsible for players who walk into traffic because Pokemon Go’s trading function requires them to walk out into traffic? Yes.

Just a note, you already get bonus XP for attacking in groups. With 4-5 people you can take down 3-4 level 10 gyms in the same time it would take you do one on your own. That's 3-4 times the XP for everyone involved!

On the topic of Switch & Zelda. Breath of the Wild is not a linear game like the previous zelda games and breaks way from tradition. It is a open world game where you can go to the end boss straight after the first/tutorial area. I do understand that you don't enjoy games like these as much but I wanted to clear that up. Also there is no need to have played any of the earlier games as none are directly connected and can be played as their own experience (if that would be holding you back a lot). Smash 5 is likely to come but not all that soon as Smash 4 came out still quite recently. A launch game that might be interesting for you that has a big Online competitive component is Super Bomberman R. Later down the line around summer Splatoon 2 is slated for release which has a huge Online scene as well. Just some ideas :) I really enjoy your videos!

the good news is i definitely think speed *will* start playing a part in the new gym system - maybe not in quite as straightforward a way as in the main series, but nonetheless... my theory right now is that pokemon's weight will finally come into play. i'm thinking something like average size = nothing, XL = 10% hp boost (y'know, to make it more tank-y), and XS = faster attacking and/or dodging. the cool thing about this is that it does give some level of customisation to your pokemon too in the same way that you'd look for pokemon with a certain nature in the main games.

I had a thought for the battle system. What if they gave you 4 moves? It'd still be tap and swipe (it is a mobile game) and by swiping up it switched to your other quick and charge move? Of course, having 4 moves would work much better if you had access to TMs and status effects.

What would be interesting for the gym rework could be gyms become randomly team assigned and gym leaders are NPCs. Every hour on the hour, a gym will become a new team and a random set of 6 Pokémon show up at the gym. You have to go to an opposing gym and work with others to take it down and turn it back to a neutral gym. Kind of like taking down "raid" bosses.

Dude no, you got a bit of the ingress stuff wrong. If you have a resonator (or a pokemon in PoGo) on a portal then you get a notification telling you your portal is under attack. which, you're right, is handy when it comes to gym defense and remembering what are yours. Also you get 'keys' to those portals so it's kind of handy to remember where they are and sometimes it's fun to have collectables from places across the world.

With breath of the wild, it isn't like the other ones, surprisingly. It's super open world and you actually have choices on how you beat the game. From the first stroke of the main story path, you can instantly go to kill Ganon for example. There is a path that you can do like normal, but it was really surprising that you have so much more than that

a thought on gym systems: it could be cool if voice were an option in battle, as in you could say a move you want your pokemon to do, like the trainers do in the anime. It could make things even more exciting, especially in PVP the main problems with this would be limitations with voice manipulation and the phone not understanding what you say (although things like Siri have gotten better, so maybe...) and also having gyms in places that shouting would not be good, like in libraries/stores. (but rlly having gyms in libraries is not the greatest idea anyway bc that's like the best possible place to grind pokestops...)

in my opinion I think that you should have to put the username of the person who you want to trade with into a searchbar and you can be able to trade when ever, where ever you want. I think this is better because then a person wouldnt be abe to come up to you and just start trading, you would have to ask for their name, put it in and go from there. It also gives the kid or adult time to think if they want to actually trade with said person

Dodging in PVP could be written as: Each pokemon has a circular zone, two circles eclipsing and that would represent the battlefield. If a pokemon dodges, they'll basically rotate around each other and the camera would follow over a blank landscape such as the catching field. I'm not sure I explained this efficiently, thoughts?
