I could see him using the Cruyff diamond formation with this group: GK: Pickford, RCB- Walker, CB- Stones, LCB- Branthwaite, CDM- Rice, RCM- Bellingham, LCM- Mainoo, CAM- Foden, RW- Saka, LW- Grealish, ST-Kane

awesome video, very good analysis and a very strong lineup! i don't think this is even too far off from the lineup southgate will use. the midfield and forward line are identical to the one he used vs france minus mainoo who was ofc replaced by hendo. feel like southgate gets a little too much stick for his lineups generally, easy to forget that this isn't club football and international managers don't get the luxury of spending months coaching their tactical nuances. i would imagine it takes a lot of coaching to get players to be positionally aware enough to play like city. thought mainoo had another great performance today, was a fan of the lineup with chilwell getting high up the pitch and allowing foden to come centrally. had it not been for 2 silly mistakes it could've been a much more comfortable game. while i usually dislike international breaks i sorta wish we had a couple more games 😢 like the way southgate experimented with both mainoo and gallagher, a week ago i felt pretty strongly that gallagher would be the most balanced choice to complete the midfield but honestly my fellow 18 year old stockport-born manc looked far more composed both in possession and out. mainoo does strike me as someone who'd absolutely thrive under pep, everything from his attitude off the pitch to his composure and confidence on the pitch, such a shame he plays for the wrong side of manchester😒

It frustrates me how almost every player from England’s A to D team can actually do extremely good things for the England if they setup for a very offensive formation along with intelligence by substituting players that can change the game while utilizing everyone’s strengths. Southgate is too loyal with his players and it felt like nothing had change from the 2018 World Cup run versus the 2022 WC run where we only see a few cameos which is really strange. It also doesn’t help playing defensive where it requires a new style of play they had to learn in crucial games. Pep with England will win everything if they give him the same amount of time for Southgate, maybe less if things go well. England have another generation coming up and Southgate will not be the man to takeover

I made a Word document about all this, however I used Stones in the Stones role, becouse I don’t know enought about Kobbie Mainoo to know that he could be the dictator in this team. I played the same 3-2-5 Pickford Joe Gomez Left Center back, Tomori Center back and Walker right Center back. I would have Rice and Stones, with Bellingham and Foden, with Saka and Gordon on the wingers and Kane up front. The same with a 4-4-2 defensively however different setup with Pickford Joe gomez Left back, Tomori left Center back, Stones right Center back Walker on the tight back. Rice and Bellingham in the Middle Saka on the right Gordon on the left with Kane and Foden up top. I think it is funny how I had not watched the video and still played with the same tactics on and off the ball as a pep team, or I have just watched to much Football analysis, it is probably that.

I do like your team better on paper, however there is dowsides with having Trent who is weak 1v1 defending and Luke Shaw so far up the pitch that can result in dangerous counter attacks.
@cameronkumar10 ай бұрын
(Like is This interests you or you agree Nobbs and others) Nobbins if you and LB wanna make a video on it during the international break with the tactical pad I might have solved our problems with not having control without being overly cautious and stale (Just Kidding but i do thinks it’s worth a conversation) This system allows control but with even more threat then with Kova and has players starting on merit and playing in there best Roles I.e Akanji and Foden. Here me out here. To me the only Cons are mostly non tactical, that’s, Stones’ injuries, Walkers delivery and Bernardo’s absence. But on two of them Walker isn’t being dropped to mine and your annoyance and Foden has been better and more consistent then Bernie this season. The Stones issue is the real iffy one tbh. So obviously it’s a 4-3-3 on paper GK: Ederson RB/RW: Walker RCB/RB: Akanji LCB/CCB: Dias LB/LCB: Ake but you’re wondering where’s Stones? Well here’s the suprise. DM: Stones LCM: Rodri You think it’s ridiculous but if you really assess there games Stones is more of a sitter Busquets type (this puts less stress on his body) and Rodri this season has been the real Gundogan replacement almost like Yaya at times. They would still make the 2 in front of the 3 but in different roles. Then here’s the best part. RW/AM: Foden RCM/AM: De Bruyne LW: Grealish With Walker starting and Stones in midfield we still get the much needed control and Foden coming inside WITH Kevin De Bruyne. We get the creativity of both Kev Ane Phil in the middle whilst still keeping the control of the 3-2 shape and Grealish on the Left doing his thing. Then Finally the Viking up top. To do one job. ST: Haaland The biggest tactical advantages you have with this is You still have Pausa of Kova with Rodri at LCM but with the added G/A threat that Gundo had. You still have Stones in midfield he actually has less running as he can stay in his spot not going back and forth to CB. Our most inform defender in Akanji plays and our leader Dias does to. Foden and De Bruyne play together meaning if one is off it Haaland still has the other to rely on. This system still lets us retain our 3-2 shape. Our treble winning defenders. A ‘dare I say’ Better than Gundo replacement. Our most creative players both on the pitch and most importantly. plenty enough PAUSA and Control without being stale and lacking threat. This is totally balanced. The only technical Con is Walker If he was say a Hakimi or Livramento. WOW.
