I have 5 quilt tops 😂 it’s always the hardest part for me , of course I’m still new to quilting so I haven’t tried free motion yet but definitely want to learn

If you want to pounce a pantograph, stitch the pattern w/o thread. Then there are holes to let the pounce through the paper.

Great ideas! You can also sew your Pantagraph on your sewing machine without thread and basting stitch.

Not sure if you’ll see this as it’s a year since this video. I am busy with my second quilt ever, both hand sewn and hand quilted, both story/photo/memory quilts, reversible. My current quilt is using my sons old “gangsta” hoodies as the backing and as my front, a story of his childhood and family, as well as his profession. These I would like to put on a film strip using photos. I know it’s very ambitious for a learner quilter but I feel I have control because I can just make it up as I go. My question is this: when I do the quilting, do I do all three layers then come back and put the film strip, which will have about 20 photos, as an appliqué, or do I sew it onto the front and then quilt it? Obviously I cannot quilt through the photos and I’ll have to do some quilting on the reverse. The quilt will be queen size. Thank you very much.

The elk panel would be good with Glide prickly pear and the first design.

I have several older ? vintage? tops that were washed by someone😞. Spent many hours trimming thread snarls off the back and pressing the wrinkled messes! Now, I’m stumped about what to quilt.

Do you tack down your edges from top to bottom before you begin or do you tack down the sides as you go?
@LindasElectricQuilters2 жыл бұрын
Hi Debby! We baste the sides down as we go:)
@hazelem12662 жыл бұрын
@@LindasElectricQuilters I realise you do long arm quilting, but how would you baste for hand quilting? Thank you.
@LindasElectricQuilters2 жыл бұрын
@@hazelem1266 you can have a longarmer baste it. You can hand baste every 4 to 6 inches to hold it in place or you could use your sewing machine and so the same thing. Basting is just big long stitches.

Newbie here, you said spritz water to help eat up fullness. Do you spray with water then let it dry then go back and quilt?

I had my statler retrofitted and I’m struggling to learn it. I’m accustomed to the old Mod 3 program. I want to do repeat patterns but I’m having trouble picking up the pattern after I have rolled my quilt. It wants to begin further past where the pattern height should be. I have watched your repeat pattern video but it doesn’t show how to roll and continue pattern rows. HELP
@LindasElectricQuilters3 ай бұрын
Hi @jancampbell600 ! There are a few ways to roll the quilt with repeat patterns, but it would be easier to explain with a video. We no longer have Gammill machines here, so I can’t film one:( I would visit Joan Knight website (quiltsandthings.com) and purchase her video called E2E Easy. It covers your question in depth and then some:)

What is the difference between e23 and a pantograph?
@LindasElectricQuilters3 жыл бұрын
E2E is computerized talk and pantograph is handguiding talk.
