Definitely an improvement on how the 2002 nWo went, but ultimately in the long run it's probably better that it was left somewhat underwhelming. If we'd done it Adam's way we wouldn't have had the legendary annual streak match at Mania that was a cornerstone for over a decade with the Undertaker. To ruin that for a bullocks finish of a forgettable repeat angle would be a travesty.

Sounds great on paper but I question whether it would have worked in practice. The whole plan seems to hang off Hogan being a heel which is problematic as the fans at the time were more interested in cheering for him. Wesley Landon Woolsey Raven should've ended the streak retaining the US title. It would've continued his feud with Page. It would've began a feud we Goldberg cough *GREENberg* cough. By ending the streak it would've pushed Scottie in the WCW spotlight making him a legitimate guy again. With the exception of Scottie as a WWF booker in the early 90s, both WCW and WWF underutilized him. His mic skills are phenomenal and although he didn't have the Rock or Austin ring talent, he still had GREAT ring psychology, GREAT fan psychology, and could still put on GREAT matches. Raven was a great heel and in them days it was the heels getting the pushes.

From the vibe given by the stars in the early 2000s, it was obvious that nWo had lost its flair immediately when they signed on with WWE, cause Bischoff had been a genius when he made sort of two companies inside his company where fans could take sides, either you were a fan of WCW or nWo. It was epic, the good vs the bad and you never knew what next episode of Nitro would bring. Also, the appeal was at its highest when it was the most hardcore, when they brought it so close to being a real thing, with heartwrenching betrayals, mob-style takeovers and bullies who just believed they could do anything they wanted. The irreverence of it all. It made people like me, who KNEW wrestling was more or less fake, start to kayfabe and think "wtf, is this for real??" ... WWE shot that all to hell and made it more tame and polished, and that's when the appeal got watered down and destroyed. You could basically tell that the stars themselves, while still trying to make it look good, were fed up with it and desperately wanted it to die.

Btw, as for your booking, I liked it. :) I particularly liked the fact that it didn't need to clash with a Hogan-face turn because, lets face it, when "Real American" plays and Hogan once again becomes a "superhero", you basically have the crowd screaming and going apeshit with joy-joy feelings. And by that time, Hogan hade been a heel for so long that a face turn would have become even more epic and nostalgic; it would've topped it off perfectly and given the ultimate closure to the ultimate story-arc ever. :) I still would have wanted the nWo turning on Hogan after the handshake for a face turn-justification and for Flair's team to remember and accepting a return of the face-Hogan from back in the day, but other than that, your booking sounded like something which no story-writer inhibited by creative-control or profit-demands ever would dare to conjure up. :D Cudos!

+FCBFan Right, here it goes: Cena comes back, and wants Del Rio. Del Rio is boring, we all know that. Plus, the only logical thing he can do now is either Cena Rematch or Swagger. Let's get the rematch now and let him take Swagger for a while. Cena gets the title. Clean, fair and square. Cena says he wants the 16th to beat the record. Assuming someone affiliated with the authority wins tonight (writting this during the PPV), and hopefully it's a Reigns heel turn, that person (please let it be Reigns) tells him that he had a lot of chances and needs to prove himself, and should take someone of his own class (Similar to how they used to do mainevent pushes a while back, you want to go against the WWE Champ? You take the IC champion). Cena vs Owens is set up. Except, Owens declines and forces Cena to make it a Title vs Title Match. They go at it and it ends up in a no contest. Rematch ends up in a DQ finish due to Owens getting counted out while holding the ropes. Titles haven't changed. A final match is settled for a no DQ on the next avaiable PPV. Cena cuts promos on how he's tired of waiting to get the IC title because it has dragged on long enough. PPV rolls along, Cena decimates Owens, he doesn't even allow him to enter the ring. Next Raw Cena demands the title match, but "oh no, there's already a number one contender". Main event is Cena vs Contender (hmm Ambrose?). Cena gets DQ'ed, but injures the contender. Match is set in a faceish Cena vs heel Reigns. Except Cena attacks Roman backstage and he's written off in a similar fashion to how Seth went. We get another tournament. In the first Raw of the tournament Cena cuts a promo on how he is tired of chasing the gold, and that he wants it now. From this momment on, every single tournament match that happens is interrupted by Cena, where he beats the crap out of both competitors, until everyone is unfit to compete, and there you have it, Monster Heel Cena

I'm watching through the older years, I'm in 2002 now about 5 months after nWo debuted. And I was hoping you'd do one of these "How they should've booked" videos. It just seemed like, "I'm going to kill the WWF with this lethal poison". And they kinda were for like two weeks. Then they had the Rock vs. Hogan and that was basically the end of anyone caring about them. At least they brought in X-Pac, because he's great. (I'm kidding). How do re-book the nWo's 2002 run without a single storyline or match against DX??? That was the year all members of the Kliq were back in the company at pretty much the same time and that Summerslam was HBK's return to active competition! All that stuff with Sting, that's just wishful thinking, that never would've happened at that time, but the entire Kliq was already there. I would have had DX be that last bastion of hope to save the WWE. For Vince to have to turn to the degenerates that had caused him so much trouble in the past (much like he did with Austin) in order to act as a sort of unlikely firewall against an increasingly overwhelming force would have been great. And since Hall and Nash were obviously friends with Shawn and Triple H, there could've been some trust issues in Hogan's mind as to where they truly stood. And whose side would X-Pac take? There was so much potential that year, how could you not tap into that? I would've had Hall and Nash, with X-Pac, eventually join DX and that would set up a classic (and much anticipated) 5 on 5 match at Survivor Series: DX vs the nWo. Finally! And if you still need your Hogan face turn, I would have him be the sole survivor of the match after pinning HBK, then have Hall and Nash come back out to the ring to raise Hogan's hand out of respect, with Shawn and later Triple H and X-Pac coming out to do the same. Bringing Hogan into the Curtain Call Club would've been enough to kickstart his face turn. And since Hogan turns face and the nWo disbands, DX proves that even though they lost the match, they're the true survivors, saving the day for the WWE. Everybody wins! I don't know, that's just one way the whole thing could've gone. Then again, maybe assuming Hall and Nash would stick around long enough for all of that is wishful thinking on my part.

Most of Stings issue with coming to the WWE was that he didn't like how their superstars were being treated when they came over. This angle would have fixed a huge amount of that, so they would have had an easier time selling it. You could have used Goldberg instead of Sting as well and it would have had a lot of pop, would have given him the kind of launch he needed as well. Provided they decided to continue with the 'Who's Next?' angle.
