@@davidolujinmi1919 Industrial use is where the money is. It’s crop that is unique to our region in the world. I understand there is a lot of mouths to feed but it’s only a staple to subsaharan Africans. However, industrial application will be world wide and hopefully we can dictate the price, add to the value chain and Improve the lives of our people. Even animal feeds to be sold around the world is better than just restricting to human consumption only.

I bought 1 yam in Houston Texas for $9!! It is better for you than dried yam with preservatives. The weight cost in shipping to the US is much.

It is expensive because the business is run by individuals. If government invest in this as a national crop to export, it will be cheaper. That way they can export raw yam, proceed yam and processed product from yam. It will earn lots of Forex for the government and create Jobs. Unfortunately we have a visionless government that is fixed on oil and monthly allocation
