Uuuhhhh.... do you still have the link to that video? I literally remember us making out dolls with plantain stems growing up in rural Nigeria. We would smash one end until it turns into stands of fiber, and then comb it out. Then we would push a stick across on the top/middle and BOOM, you have a doll with arms and hair 😂

Dehydrator, is that the drying machine you are after? I use Plantain flour, make it my self from the unripe fruit, so i dont buy from the store cos they add other ingredients like tapioca etc to it which i react to. So i go to a Plantain farm, get a bunch or two, cut up with the skin and without- 50:50, put in freezer bags and freeze. I live in a country with constant power. Time to cook, i bring out a portion and pour into my blender, allow it to defrost in there then blend, pour in a non stick pan and stir, once formed, add a little water to cook on low heat, then stir again. Yummy😂, texture is superb

Hi Bayo, Plantain flour isn't new to the market. My dad eats it for health reasons and has done so now for about 2 decades now. He bought the unripe plantains and we cut it up and dried it with the sun ourselves. Drying with the sun is so much better. We never bought the mechanically dried ones as there were 'issues' around outbreaks of illnesses depending on the food handling hygiene levels of the providers. I am interested in the sun dried ones. Are you able to ship to the UK?

Great video. However, Plantain flour (Elubo Ogede) has been produced and consumed since forever in Yorubaland. While growing up in the 60s, 70s it was snubbed as elubo for the poor. It's quality was later realised when it started to be recommended for diabetes and plantains became expensive. So plantain elubo is not new at all.

@mayanaija If you’ve been thinking about starting a farm, that’s not just a dream-it’s a plan worth pursuing. Nigeria is blessed with fertile land and a favorable climate for agriculture. Plus, the demand for farm produce is always growing, both locally and internationally. To make this dream a reality, the first step is owning the right farmland. Luckily, I can help you with that. I currently have farmland available in prime locations across Nigeria. The lands are very affordable, starting at prices that won’t strain your finances, and they’re perfect for farming ventures of any scale-be it crop cultivation, livestock, or even agro-allied businesses. Beyond affordability, investing in farmland is also a smart financial move. These lands appreciate quickly, so even if you decide not to farm right away, you’re sitting on an asset that will grow in value. For example, some of the farmlands I manage are already projected to double or triple in value in just a few years. This is a chance to start fresh, build something sustainable, and secure your future. I’d love to discuss your vision and help you find the perfect piece of land to bring it to life. Let’s make your dream of farming in Nigeria a reality. We can speak or chat further on +2348160814294
