Coming to your questions: 1- I am not sure what you exactly mean by the type of SAT test because usually it is the same SAT test that is commonly taken by the applicants. But I’ll suggest you to visit LUMS undergraduate website and there you may find more specific details in this regard. 2- For applying to NOP, one can apply when first year result has been announced so you would be able to apply when your first year is completed. I also have made a video about NOP scholarship, you may watch that video for more information about NOP and its application timeline. I think now both modules of SAT i.e. 1 and 2 are to be taken. But these changes are recent so please make sure to reconfirm everything from LUMS website. And for NOP, you can apply after you have your first year result.

W.salam, Frankly speaking, getting in LUMS undergraduate is quite competitive. The grades should be at least average. However, you should apply at least and my suggestion to you would be that don’t feel so obsessed with a single university. There are other universities in Pakistan whose CS is quite good. And most important thing is building your own skills. Especially in the field of CS, your skills and expertise are more important compared to the university or degree.

Q2.Discuss your ambitions,skills and experience and how will they help you succeed in your choosen major/ academic program? Can you please elaborate what should we specifically target in answering them?

First of all there is no single correct or wrong answer to this, but in my opinion your response to this should be in line with the following ideas: For Q1, you must come up with your story that how over the time you have developed your interest in your intended program of study. For example if you are intending to study Physics, you can write that since childhood you have been interested in figuring out the physical reality around you and over time you got deeper into it and now you look towards the sky and contemplate about the reality of the universe and the governing principles of physics. The Q2 is more technical in nature and in this you have to convince the reader that how your skills and experience best match with your intended program of study. Again, for example, in case of physics you may write about let’s say a workshop that you attended about Physical Cosmology and the books you have read on astrophysics. Or you may write about some hands on laboratory experience in which you have used equipment like telescope. This is one example for a specific field but I hope you got the idea and will come up with the writing for whatever your intended study program is. One very helpful tip can be: examples, skills, and experiences that are unique can make your statement stand out so give a good amount of time in thinking what you got best in your life and relate it to your intended program. Extracurriculars can add value to your admission process and it depends, how effectively you can add this to your personal statement. Also do upload the certificates and pictures of trophies/medals (if any) to the extracurricular section when you are applying.

W.salam… Your grades are good and you should apply. And try having good score in SAT as well and also write an effective and impactful personal statement. And I think you can apply once you have your results of the first year of A levels, which should be equivalent to the first year of FSc. According to my information you can get admission in any School (department or major) of LUMS other than the Science and Engineering School, excluding Biology major even with pre medical in FSc. But please check the admission requirements of MGSHSS School (on LUMS website) because this is the School of LUMS that offers undergraduate major in Political Science.
