2:01 my opinion on that is -"Never aim to read more than others, read to enjoy more, read to learn and grow more. Doesn't matter what others are doing. Even if you are the world's slowest reader but if you are enjoying the process then it's fine"

Active reading really works. I take NOTES when I read. The act of writing makes me more aware of what I am reading and reinforces the learnings.

I seriously needed with video. I recently read a book titled "How to Memorize Everything" by Aditi and Sudhir Singhal. The book journeys its reader in a very accurate way. I loved how the authors included examples. It is actually great for students. The book talks about techniques to memorize for every subject ,starting from math to history. I truly liked the Cornell's method. I agree that active reading is necessary. Thanks Saheli Didi for discussing such an in-depth ways to memorize. Love you😙

@@Dilshaan_011 m not helly But difference between novels and books is primarily that novels are a "kind " of books. Other types of books are textbooks which you get for theoretical studying in school. Novels are books with stories. Fiction, non-fiction and other categories are there. You can check videos on youtube for knowing more about novel genres. It's very diverse. Besides you can gain knowledge or lesson from any kind of novel..it depends on person or person. For example..fictional books touch me deeper than non fiction. For some its non- fiction that works for them. You have to read more to understand this. This was my take. Hope it helps you. If helly has seen your comment, she might also specify further on your question.

Feynman technique, mnemonic method, loci method Major system, PAO method are some other tricks to remember what you read And i personally suggest use a pen ans blank page beside you when reading and make summary of each paragraph in one word or two this will keep you engaged in chapter and you'll have paragraph like summary.

I'm trying to become a better reader. Deep down I like reading, I'm just very picky with books. & I could be wrong, but it sounds like this for informational non-fiction texts.
