Nathan Patel The 5000nex is a nice radio, it just lacks a few things like the HDMI input, POI's for maps(it has them just very basic), and 2 camera option to name a few. The up graded 6000nex is well worth the extra money, it is not lacking those things. Thanks

Dana Hanson ok I will try to answer all your questions, here goes. YES the second lighting cable goes into the usb 2 spot on the Pioneer radio and is for charge only on the Apple HDMI to Lighting adaptor. It is not mandatory you can use USB 1 for this, however it just makes things easier. We use the iSimple Lighting cables, they are 6' long and will typically run them into the armrest or dash pocket. Now for mounting an HDMI in a dash we use the Switchcraft EHHDM12 thet you can get on Amazon and the Pac-Audio USB / Aux marine dash mount kit for the USB. Hope this helps more Thanks

Could you please give us more details on the cables. It was confusing when you went to the lightning adaptor. you talked about two lightning cables but never really talked about the second one, dose it go into usb2. So you need 2 lightning cables, 1 HDMI and 1 lightning to HDMI adaptor? What do you recommend for these cable lengths and where do you typically locate them in the vehicle after install? Coiled up by the heater output or where exactly? Do you know of a fixed output plate that's exposed with HDMI and 2 USB that could be fix mounted and permanent wires to the back of the radio? Thanks

Theory: A way around having to change the settings every time you switch cables is to have the lightning cable going into the Digital a/v adapter plugged into a separate power source instead of using the radio. This could be accomplished in two ways. You could hard wire a cigarette plug adapter behind the radio and use a car charger to power the adapter. Or without having to hard wire anything is run the car charger from the stock cigarette plug. What I understand from the reasoning for changing the settings every time is that the radio is just seeing the adapter as another usb source thus without the setting change it will just start the carplay feature.

If you are doing CarPlay and also want to do HDMI screen sharing there is no settings change necessary. You can have USB1 for CarPlay, unplug the phone plug it into the HDMI adapter and star screen sharing. You can use USB2, the power port like you describe, or nothing at all it will work when you press HDMI in the source menu. The only time you have to change the smart phone settings is when you are doing AppRadio. Then you have to use HDMI and Bluetooth no USB is needed.

Gideon Brown The 5700 will not do CarPlay with this cable. This cable will only allow you to watch what is on your phone. CarPlay is software that is not compatible with radio you would need one of the NEX model for it to work. The 5700 will do App Radio 1 though, check out the video on that and see if there is anything it can offer you. As for what to do with the AV input, most people do nothing with them. Thanks

Shane Morrell Miracast is what you want for those phones. You can leave the phone plugged into the radio or power port for charge.

I follow your exact steps to watch Netflix on my SPH da120 but I get a "viewing of front seat video source while driving" etc. message. I have the apple HDMI to lighting. I'm using the CD-MU200 cable on USB port 1 and connected my iPhone cable to it and then connected that to the Apple HDMI to lighting adapter. And the HDMI cable is on the HDMI input connected to the HDMI Apple adapter. Do I need the CD-IU52 cable for it to properly work? Or the CD-IU201S? (Radio is off and I clicked on HDMI on the drop down menu.

I'm looking at buying the Pioneer 4200NEX, but have gotten different answers from a couple of different installation places. 1) I currently have Sirius XM on my stock MyLink stereo. But will I need to buy a different satellite receiver to have it on the 4200NEX? What sort of receiver does my stock MyLink use? 2) If they hook up my rearview camera to the Pioneer, does it switch on automatically like it does now? 3) Will they have to replace my existing Bluetooth microphone and wire in the new one that comes with the Pioneer? 4) If I want to stream any sort of video from my iPhone to the Pioneer, is the above mentioned method the only way to do it?

So iDataLinks does not make the maestro for your car. That means 1. You will need the sxv300 and on tuner, and the Sat1 antenna adapter( so you can keep your factory antenna). 2. You will need a Pac Audio RP4 or Rp5 radio replacement harness, this will have a feed wire for reverse. It will connect to the radio and switch it on while in reverse. 3. You will have to use the Pioneer mic. The radios noise cancelling and voice sounds are setup to work with their mic. 4. Yes just like above. PAC also makes a USB factory retention cable for GM. I hope this helps, if you need anything else let us know.

So the Sat1 antenna adapter, that will connect the SXV300V1 to the originally installed SiriusXM antenna in the car? And regarding the Pac Audio RP4 or RP5, is there a difference between the two? I was looking at a Metra 99-3012G-LC Dash and Wiring Kit plus a PAC SWI-RC for steering wheel controls. Would that negate a need for an RP4 or RP5? Also, I'm assuming I need the antenna adapter for the radio antenna? And lastly, can you point me towards the Pac USB factory retention cable? I can't seem to find it. Assuming this means I can continue to use the USB input in the glove compartment?

Yes the sat1 lets you keep the factory antenna. Rp4- don't want to keep OnStar Rp5 - keep OnStar. Stay away form the Metra. The Rp's have the bypass and steering controls built in, the are all in one.👍 It is call the USB-GM1, yes you can keep the factory working with this.

You can also save a lot of time & energy by loading all TV Shows, Movies & Videos on to a USB Thumb Drive. As long as they are in MP4 format you can carry an entire library in your pocket. I have 128 GB and it works GREAT!!!

You can watch movies play maps, waze, KZbin on the AVH-4200 NEX model. No need to go in settings it switch back automatically when going from hdmi back to Apple car play. Install in my 2004 Ford Expedition

To control Waze from the screen you have to switch it to the AppRadio Mode. You can only view it in HDMI mode.

MirrorLink will not actually mirror your phone. It will not allow you to do apps or control your phone. More then likely it will not work at all that is why we do the Medialinx cable. Sorry for any confusion about that.

Daniel Molina yes you need the bypass for this to work. Did your installer connect the E-break? We find a lot don't when installing these radios.

h8ncars yes you can just use the lightning adapter with out plugging in a lightning cable. It is just there for charge and will work just fine with out it. The is a orange white wire on the power plug that needs to be connected to the cars dash lights. Most factory plugs also have this wire, it is orange or orange white. Connect them together

To adjust the picture brightness you have to pull up the emergency brake or you can't use that option on the dog-da120 settings menu. You need an HDMI input for video, so any radio with HDMI in will work( like the 6100). If you have a 5100 you can add the iSimple Medialinx to get video in. We have a video up showing you how.

Looked up the axxes axmlink and it doesn't support Netflix.... So is there any CORDLESS ways to get Netflix on my monitor ? Any made with the app built in? I don't like how I need cords to connect my phone and I don't like the fact that Netflix has to come from my phone... Wouldn't that stop video if I needed to send a text? :/

A radio shop installed the nex 4200 for me and did the parking bypass somehow. I have tried connecting two different hdmi cables that I know for sure work into the hdmi port on the back of the radio, then into the hdmi adapter thing that apple sells. The problem is the radio never recognizes a hdmi cable i connect to the hdmi port. What am I doing wrong?

Yes this was a App Radio 4, however this will work on all the NEX radios except the 5000( because it does not have an HDMI input). Thanks

Yes you can, you need an HDMI cable in the Lightning to HDMI just like in the video.
