Rational approach is Absolutely vital. No emotions If possible. There is nothing you can do to change others, you can only change yourself. And the way to deal with narcisists is to have nothing to do with them.

I’ve done those things. Held him accountable, took over finances, presented evidence of cheating or at LEAST shady behavior. The result was promising to change, he became MUCH MORE sneaky, VEEERRY selective with his words and behaviors, got another phone and started tracking me more to time his shady ways so it all appears that he is accountable and open and changed.

That is such well intended bad advice!| LOL. Firstly, giving ultimatums and trying to hold a narcissist accountable is pointless. Since they never feel their behaviours are never wrong, there’s no insight, no remorse or shame. 2) they don’t have empathy (or so little). They’re never sorry about anything, they’re just sorry they got caught! Lol. I caught my ex covert narc cheating numerous times. He was registered on numerous dating sites ( caught him red handed and had a stack of proof, screen shots, pictures etc…) in my hand when I confronted him, and yet still he denied everything. He was also regularly getting strange texts on his phone from all these women I never heard of. Again, when I confronted him, he lied. My ex covert narc also has a porn addiction. The fact is; I walked away 8 years ago. They never change. Giving them ultimatums, shaming them, threatening to leave , making them accountable, having rational discussions etc.. will not work and they’re pointless. It’s like trying to put lipstick on a pig: it frustrates US and it annoys them. We have to have enough pride and dignity and walk away and leave them. They do not change EVER!. They just learn to hide it better and get better at lying. RUN and save yourself!

It's been 13 yrs since then I decided to forgive and move forward. However the years have not been easy. Now to make it worse it seems like there is distance again and no thought or consideration for my well being. He's all I've known and don't really have any family. I feel stuck, scared but most of all angry. I've done everything from calm discussions, yelling, writing letters, talking to family.... but it seems like there is nothing else i can do. I've been broken and damaged to where I don't think I will ever be the same person. But I will try and have faith that somehow there is nother way.

Honestly, i lived with a narcissist just 1year.It was first time in my life I ever encountered such type of person. At the very beginning I thought hmm there is something strange about him, because in just 2 weeks he changed to “another “ person. Totally shocked me. But I didn’t know this people existed! I have learned my lesson. After a year when in a rage of anger he jumped on me and started choking me with both hands, I managed to escape and called for help. That was it. He was on a trial afterwards. I was free. And it took me another 2 years! To just recover psychologically from that. And I don’t dare ever imagine in what nightmare you could live right now. And the recovery you would need. But this is deteriorating in every aspect of life and your being. Fear and uncertainty and psychological damage. Please reach out to Kevin. He is the one who can help. Lots of love I wish to you. And a bright journey to healing!🌺

I think what Kevin means is about not to “surprise” them by having and showing the evidence of cheating , they don’t feel anything! It is for us. So that is a “baseline “ when we can stay on and become stronger psychologically. Practical evidence and actions will help US not them. Here is the catch though what we need to understand, it may help us get out of the relationship easier! No emotions involved, no “love” no dependency! Pure wisdom- Out.

Yeah build that case WITHOUT HE KNOWS and file separation, kick him out of the door. Especially if you share children. That's the legal authority you have and it's great. Tell him you will withdraw separation only if he respects your conditions. Set your conditions high. Steal everything from him. And after that find excuses to keep the separation and drive him mad. Well. New hubby wasn't narc when we married almost a year ago, but about 6 months later he fell into drinking alcohol. Did not even know this had been a problem with him 8 years ago. PLUS I caught him looking at pornhub, he admitted doing this for YEARS and even when we had been working together in Alabama, where he had been almost for a year! He seems surprised when I said "If I had known these things about you, I would not have even considered you dating material, MUCH LESS MARRIED YOU, J E R K!!!!" He's become a compulsive liar now, even catching him at it does no good. I have motion detecting cameras where he parks and he KNOWS they are there, and still consumes alcohol on the premises (which is against the lease, Landlord can kick him out at any time). Thankfully, we have rented separate rooms; Landlord is not going to kick ***ME*** out! How ironic. I feel . . . betrayed . . . cheated on . . . misled . . . used . . . and abused through passive aggressive behavior (which he doesn't claim to understand because that would be admitting wrong). The fact that he will hide it, says he knows it's wrong. And violating his own conscience!

He won't pay child support, so going after him is futile, because he'll work under the 1:14 table and lie about being employed. He'll convince his mother that he's the poor victim and she will buy him a house but keep it in her name so the courts can't touch him..Been there, done that. By the way, I found love poems in the pocket of the sport coat I bought him for Christmas. He never so.much as bought me a Valentine for Valentine's Day, and once bought me a cheese slicer for Mother's Day, because he did not like thickness of the cheese I cut when making him a sandwich. The worst is when children are involved, I was on anti depressants but was feeling good stronger, and because felt better the week before all this I stopped taking them,so by following week could feel self going down within myself my youngest at time @my parents. I had enough and told him on the Thursday night I’m done I was told I had no heart he has nobody and I’m gonna take away his son. I felt bad that I wanted to leave and he had no one.over the next few days was crying in my room.was collecting son from parents next day. It was sunny out and had a rotten table I was gonna try fix. Was sitting on ground and using a bread knife was easier to cut.he ask me to go on a walk I said I don’t want to just leave me be. I went in after washed up.again was asked to go on a walk by now I was mentally exhausted and someone I knew walked passed who was a trigger as well as him, he knew how to get in my head. Cut long story short he knew full well I wouldn’t I’m not that kind of person especially after like 7 yrs with our sonI said I feel like hurting someone I went bk to garden something was said under the arch I was still holding knife he bent little finger back I was screaming the pain. He then grabbed the knife of me by the blade, so had like a scratch. I fell into the trap he had me . He then pushed me to the floor and said going to police. I thought was joking

Next thing I knew 4-5 police cars police with bullet proof vests. I thought I was dreaming. This was real alright they took me to police station 11 hours later I was interviewed had mental health team assess me a little while after being there. I could of been put away for Abh or GBH once I told the officers about how he lied to his wife and me both become mentally ill god bless her soul May his wife RIP I believe this was my punishment yet I was 21 when met him he was 35.lied to both of us but I loved and stayed with him. Back to what happened with knife incident. Police released me no further action I had a fine and restricted from going home for few weeks. Still no depressants and crying went bk he took me to see mental crises team by now just didn’t want to be here any more. When I was their and he was asking questions he said it says on these records that u attacked partner with a knife and because a child lived with us,social service was now involved. After 2nd visit while she was there my son fell over and come running in straight to me and hugging me, she could see my son felt safe around me and said she won’t be bk she was satisfied I wasn’t a risk to my son. But I know for a fact if I would of walked away with our son,he would of taken it to court and got custody has was on mental health report about knife etc and because of mental health blah blah etc. So I wasn’t gonna leave my son! So I stayed and by staying I had been manipulated lied told I’m mad paranoid questioning my worth and myself. Everyone at his work thought him a great man. When kids out room would make snide faces and remarks I would react and would turn into a row and kids would hear me shouting and looked like I was starting on him, he played that game so well. I’m a shell of person I once was this is just 1 thing out of many so too all around and family I was one on meds and it’s all me. I isolated self from family old friends etc it’s done me emotionally and physically to point just not well etc, I’ve been thinking positively and it’s nice to know my son saw and noticed things to point wants me and him to move.I’ve never and wouldn’t make him not see his dad.I ain’t got that fear in me of him keeping our son,he can make up his own mind

To point our youngest can hear him whispering or if there is a noise and can’t hear see him mouthing words if talking but can’t hear. And also has noticed these coincidences. At end of day this thing could of had a family etc as his now 61 this year. Because my youngest don’t want to be here where his school is any more I’m trying to see if can get exchange near my parents and brother and family and finally be free from him. Ppl seem to think it’s all about money. They haven’t a clue. But yeah they can think what they want. I had no choice why stayed and if who ever wants him good luck😂 I would say I’d run but having inflammation illness and it affecting me to walk.as soon as I can I will var var voooooooom as far away from here as I can . I disagree. Ultimatums can create more danger because ultimatums appear threatening to a narcissist. My feeling is that there is no getting back to a trust situation.. one cannot change a narcissist. If the person wants to change they have to seek therapy. But the Individual who is in this toxic relationship must get out. As horrible as it may appear initially, get out. Things will get better in time and the person who's is at the end of the dysfunction will eventually be at peace. One has to get out and move on. Ultimatums do not work. Not with a chronic liar.

Telling the toxic family is almost never an option, i recommend telling THEIR support system ` ( choose long term monkeys).. and NEVER say narcissist or YOU will be called one and get nowhere fast .. (also be careful and choose a STABLE NON enabling monkey or all you'll get is them fluffing over it and making light of it (even with proof attached:(....(making it a million times worse) . Excellent as usual! #debscornercanada

The point you have made Kevin, perhaps in other videos, that one should keep to one's own sort or tribe 'so to speak' is definitely true. This is not to victim blame as the victim is one of deceit or of the mask or act. However, with hindsight there were clues (cocaine taking/ asking to borrow money/ talking about cheating on their wife and getting away with it through lying) which were definitely warnings to pick up on, and then run away from such people. The problem is one of giving some the benefit of the doubt through misplaced trust. Any warning should be taken seriously. I now know better, though too late.

Why would you waste your life trying to track someone down at all hours of the day... and night lol ? Even if it feels like you can't live without this person, at the moment, someone like that is simply not worth your time at ALL.

My narcissist husband gave me a venereal disease and til this day he still says that he never cheated on me Ever. Plus My family caught him,my son told on him and on and on. He did control me sexually and I was real sick ended up with Stage 4 Endometriosis without health insurance. Long story but He is just not for me and we were together for 30 years of off and on Hell, trying to raise a son. Like I said long story but yes I rationalized and got the heck out! I tried everything to make my first time marriage work in spite of and Nothing. A numb nut. A meat head. Dead from the neck up. Lol. With No affection or sex and he only did it every once in a while to lure me back in and so I stopped it all together and moved on. Thank You for being here for everyone who wants to listen and get their life back. I lost me and I am still trying to figure out about myself. I personally have gone a long way and still doing it even now. I never thought in a million years that I would end up with a narcissist husband. This was a lesson that I will never forget. Take Care❤

9:00 Good point on authority. But if they think you are just there to play the role of wife, not move forward in a loving manner, then it does not work. They thwart workable solutions and hate "psyco babble" AKA psychology. They block out or get triggered by any mention of psychology or going to therapy. It would mean they are seen as weak or flawed by some imagined authority if they went to counseling. They think they are perfect.

My ex met his new wife in a Thai massage place, after 3 months with her he asked me for the divorce. We were married 22 years. When I started to search if he had another woman I found out that when he was in her house he watched 5 to 6 hours of porn videos. He signed up for several dating apps and was teasing women in their 20's to their 60's. He was passive aggressive but after asked me for the divorce He became a monstet. His biggest complaint was that I was no good enough in the bed and that I didn't make him feel a man.

Cheating and lying makes for a good paying youtube video to line your pocket, but cheating, lying, not liking someone, being conceded because you are better looking than the average do not make you a narcissist but makes u a normal person. A real narcissist is a predator that seeks u out to hurt u for their own entertainment purposes. It’s very normal to just not like someone or just grow apart and not be compatible anymore.

Hi Kevin...I disagree on some of your advise. To go to the in-laws...no they will always favor their child. To take over the bank account has to be done very slowly or else the spouse may not put any money into the account or only a certain amount; if he knows the marriage is slowly being dissolved....the spouse may slowly steal all of the money. I know from experience if the spouse steals money or anything of value prior to filing for divorce...it is good bye money. Telling the spouse about leaving 🙄🤔could back fire; perhaps he hopes you will so he does not have to pay alimony.

You can do all those things if you want, but he's still narcissistic at the core, so why would you want to stay with him even if he stopped cheating sexually? Also, there are other ways a husband like this cheats on his wife - i.e. emotionally divorcing her by being emotionally intimate with 1 or more other women. At some point, it's probably a good thing to hire an investigator to look into the private, secret, "other life" of your narcissistic husband, though, because knowledge is power and makes you better equipped in knowing how to deal with him.

What about the loyal narcissist who just wants you to play the role of trophy wife and memory holder? They don't cheat, they don't have intimacy or sex. Just a stone wall.

Often they don’t want to lose the wife because of an expensive divorce. Splitting assets & retirement account... along with child support and alimony. It’s not necessarily that they want to keep the wife. If he has a girlfriend he may wish the wife didn’t exist. Think Chris Watts...

It's virtually impossible for me to cheat on my partner...since women want nothing to do with me. My companion is not doing good mentally. She has mental illness...I care for her. Frankly Now...women inspire a deep rage and a form of internal hatred in me towards them. Imagine Loving Peanut butter but it runs away from you??? but you are also severely allergic to it???
