You and I both know it. Eventually, everyone and everything comes to an end. There's many ways it can happen, but there's only one for you. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. From sand we came. To sand we’ll return. No matter what we do, no matter how hard we try, one day we live and the next... we die.

Acceptance can go a long way in relieving our worries. As a psychiatry student, let me tell you that according to statistics, you actually start to die when you are having tension, stress and worried about everything. We live in an era where hustle culture is glorified, no matter how abnormal its principles sound. It's not possible for a human being to work all the time and act logically, no matter how much the person is motivated or passionate. The ones that do, push themselves to extremities and this leads to burnout and anxiety. Accept, whatever comes your way. You can only control your inner self...you can't control the external stuff. You are getting older? Accept it gracefully. Go with the natural flow of life instead of pushing it away and living in a bubble. That way you can be harmonious with everything.
@MiggsMultiple

In what way to tension, stress and being worried cause it to be the case, and how do they test such things driven by emotions?
@seokjinshairstrand5144
@seokjinshairstrand5144 2 жыл бұрын
@@MiggsMultiple most of the data comes from psychological counseling followed by a brain scan... It has been observed that 70% of patients who got a sudden heart attack were going through a stressful period or had some sort of tensions going on in their personal life. Patients with stress related disorders have shown higher levels of endotoxins and have been observed to be more susceptible to bacterial infection. This gives rise to the speculation that the onset of process of death occurs way before we think it to be.
@MiggsMultiple
@MiggsMultiple 2 жыл бұрын
@@seokjinshairstrand5144 I feel that this means those who are very susceptible to stress and anxiety etc who live a long life with minimal to no ailments and hit their 70's or 80's unscathed are just another example of 'good genes?' ..... This seems to be the only reason for anyone defying odds and conclusions of research. On the other end, we see 4 yr olds with ailments and illness where it seems very clear they haven't lived, or even been able to live, a life of stress and anxiety? Genes? I guess I'm fascinated that we still essentially have no idea what the formula or pattern is for longevity and health. Diet has been a more recent and strong argument but even then, anomalies occur left and right.
@seokjinshairstrand5144
@seokjinshairstrand5144 2 жыл бұрын
@@MiggsMultiple well while the aspect of good genes is plausible, we can't say that it's exclusively due to that factor. A lot of psychological factors like childhood trauma, imposter syndrome, attachment issues and a lot of lifestyle factors like diet, movement, type of job also play a role. And since we still don't have a full understanding of how neural disorders work, it's too early to make a conclusion.

About 4 years ago I couldn’t stop thinking about dying. I became so fearful that I quit my job and stayed in my house permanently. My wife had to take care of both of us, I threw out all sharp objects, killed the power to the outlets in my room, I took a lot of irrational precautions. The fear of death consumed my life. This went on for 6 months then my wife forced me to go to a psychiatrist. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with clinical depression and I had start treatment with medication and therapy sessions. Like I said it’s been a while since then and seeking treatment helped a lot. I don’t fear death anymore not because I think I am tough guy but because I took the time to understand it and make peace with the fact. I’m living a much better live today, I do fall into “dips” of sadness or lack of desire to do or say anything but it’s not the extreme depression I experienced in the beginning. Sometimes I even fake being happy and then I become a little more positive by acting positive. Seeking help is always the best thing to do. 😊

His take on depression is 100% truth. I heard a psychologist's analysis of depression that completely agreed about the "blaming the victim" response, as being the default treatment of coworkers, for example, who interact with those in this situation. The psychologist goes on to explain in high resolution detail, how shockingly common this phenom is, and how our high stress, low meaningful personal relationship social environment, have combined to make this problem worse than Ever Before!

Maybe it's time to think what is the entire point of punishments. Do we punish just because someone has done something bad? Or do we punish to keep a malefactor away from committing a similar crime again? If to aid learning and growth of a person is the primary purpose of punishments, then we may also look at other less painful ways to do the same. You seem like a person who has good self-awareness. If being conscious of your acts that may have inflicted pain to someone is enough to keep you from repeating it, then punishments are just not necessary. You have grown smarter and become a better person by yourself. I don't know if you realise this, but its a very rare trait that you possess. And the world would be better with more people like you. :)

@@vishwajeetohal9137 I think the main reason i punished myself is because i felt really bad about what i did, and i felt like I deserved punishment. Even if my mom probably forgave me after like an hour or so (im not sure i was hiding in my room) and has since then completely forgotten about it. Despite my terrible memory i try to remember all the wrong things i have done to avoid repeating them, as that phrase that ive seen somewhere at some point said, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

@Schuyler Mayfield Well..different people think differently. Eternity is a foreign concept w.r.t. to reality. Nothing is eternal, everything ends at some point or the other. Yet, there are a lot of people who wish to leave something behind to last for all eternity, a monument to the fact that they existed. They might end, but an imprint of their being ight influence those after them. Basically, it gives them a sense of life after death. Death is the conqueror, the final showstopper..but it is not ending that people fear, that is written in stone, it is what comes after that they fear. There is no escape from what lies beyond the veil, if there is anything at all. Hence, a lot of people just plain hate death and wish for a semblance of the eternal

@@antemordacity9885 exactly. They fear not existing. I'll say think back to the billions of years before you were born. We were dead then. Chances are that's what death is going to be like once we return. Be grateful for life. Embrace death. Nothing is forever.

About the whole gun control thing. I wish aperture would have brought up the idea of gun responsibility. If you want a gun, you should know if youre likely to have suicidal thoughts. You should own a gun treating it like its a dangerous weapon understand how to use it properly so that there is no chance of an accidental misfire. That is the responsibility of a gun owner, to not be careless with your use of it.

@@thewingedpotato6463 Too bad the government wrongly takes peoples right to own guns. For absolutely zero reason but the words of others as well. The government will do what it wants, as the people stand by idly. Thus it gets away with killing millions the world over. All while telling people they aren't allowed to have guns which is not something they can do. For no real reason, except their place of birth, and the word of someone else. Of course these are FAR from the worst horrors of crimes against humanity governments commit.
@thewingedpotato6463
@thewingedpotato6463 2 жыл бұрын
@@user-gz4ve8mw9l Couldn't agree more. The governments literally have a monopoly on violence. Only the government is allowed to protect their own interests from the people, the people have no right (or even means) to protect themselves from the government. That's why only government officials get to hide out in the underground bunkers while everyone else gets nuked into oblivion, even though they were the ones who started it, funded it, and escalated it beyond the point of no return. While using everyone's money but their own (which was taken from the people in the first place under threats of in/direct violence)

Oh, actually I looked that up on Our World in Data and apparently it's decreased from 78,92 years in 2014 to 78,85 years in 2018. Then 2019 is 78,86 years, and while there still isn't any data for 2020 I mean the most likely outcome is that it's decreased somewhat sharply.
