Another fun fact about Jupiter: it would be a miracle to even make it to the surface without taking several times the lethal dose of radiation. Its magnetosphere is extremely radioactive because it's strong enough to capture solar radiation into radiation belts. Jupiter also has the largest storms of any planet, and the lightning is strong enough to send radiowaves into deep space.
@aylmer666

yeah it's so radioactive that you couldn't even visit any of its moons without radiation shielding or you'd be dead in a second. So much for Outland :(

Could I add that in an unimagineably huge space with unimagineable amounts of planets, even though the chance for such a planet to form is low, since there is so many planets, it is likely for a planet like Earth to form. So, people will say "Wow, what a coincidence we were born on this habitable planet" when it is literally the only planet that would be suitable for the exact species that are on Earth

Mars wouldn't be worse "due to it's radiation" since the radiation comes from the same place: the Sun. If you are in space, even near Mars, you're getting at least as much radiation as if you were on the surface. Probably more, since Mars has some atmosphere to filter some forms of radiation at least a bit.

Mars also suck all of the air out of you instantly, which would be a very violent and painful process that would kill you pretty much instantly, as its atmosphere is basically a vacuum as it is 1% of earth.

I don't know what sort of channel this is, but after the good job he did with Pluto I thought it was actual science wrapped in humor. The thing that makes me question this is that 300 mSv will *not* kill you instantly! Sure, it might increase your cancer risk, if you weren't a native, but there are actually places on Earth (e.g. Ramsar, Iran) with similar background radiation counts. Ironically, people who live in these regions may have a *lower* incidence of some cancers. But no, it won't kill you instantly. It takes about 6-8 Sv before it becomes a lethal dose, but even then it can take you weeks to die depending on the medical intervention. For instantly lethal, you'd need to be in the hundreds of Sieverts or more.

Idk, he was wrong about Pluto though. He made the point about how cold only feels cold if there is something to conduct the heat, but then he asserts Pluto has an atmosphere, or surface oceans, idk. Pluto has an atmosphere in only the most technical of definitions. Its 10 micobar or something crazy like that.
