Correct me if am wrong folks, (preferably Medical school community people) I know that Sodium-Glucose transport channel (SGLT1) particularly in the intestinal lumen membrane don't utilize ATP directly (as mentioned at minute 02:00 in the video above) but it's maintained by Sodium-Potassium pump and it's considered Cotransport as opposed to Countertransport. That's why we call it Secondary active transport as oppose to Primary active transport. Reference: LINDA S. COSTANZO, PhD textbook of Physiology 6th edition page 10 (Secondary active transport)

I think you’re both right. They just didn’t go too much into details onto why they said active transport instead of saying co-transport. Though, from what I remember SGLT1 does use active transport. In the absence of sodium transport through the intestinal membrane, no glucose can be absorbed because glucose absorption occurs in a co-transport mode with active transport of sodium. I think my source comes from Guyton and Hall cause that’s where i usually read my physiology
