I lost 40+ years of my life to my abusive covert narc mother. I'm no contact now, but having trouble forgiving myself for losing my best years to her abuse. I should've recognized what was going on but it was like I had a thick veil over my consciousness, that only relatively recently has been ripped away...too late though. Or, almost too late. I hope others , young folks, can learn from my mistakes...no contact. It's truly a life saver.

Good topic Andrew. Well in my narcissistic relationship I was really treated badly to the point of giving up. But since the discard, I changed everything it was difficult and very terrifying. New job new place to live, almost everything I had I left behind including the narcissist. It was hard to be alone but I'm getting better and I'm stronger my health is good my new job isn't perfect but I don't lose any sleep over it. So that's where I'm at now. I'm glad you are doing well! One thing I think might help you as far as saying that you are alone. Remember, you were truly completely alone when you were in the narcissistic relationship. But now that you are out, you are not alone! I don't say that I'm alone, I say that I'm with myself because I am fully present with myself! And I have grown to enjoy my own company! I have no need for validation from someone who pretends to care about me but is tearing me down at every chance he can. Stay strong! I also moved away, 2,000 miles away. But I have to tell you don't think you can start communicating with the narcissist because even though they are far away they can still worm their way into your head. Stay strong!

Andrew, you saved my life. I ran away from my narcissist 4 days ago because he became violent more and more each and every day. I have ran away for my dear life as my bedroom door was kicked in and I narrowly escaped being assaulted with a pair of players. I have heard from my narc some time ago that I "lost the game". Now I am homeless and staying in a sub-standard hotel and hoping to get some accommodation from the gov as my resources were depleted so much I simply cannot afford the free private rental market. I was with him for nearly 10 years and I always knew something was off as he was setting my senses to extreme making me say and do things I would have never done if not for him. I even got arrested once. I came across your videos some time ago and escaped once back in 2022 but I did not heal properly and when he popped back in my life I did believe that he had changed so I went for a round number 2 which is nearing to an end; my belongings are still at his house. Andrew, you made me understand that I had to go. if I may somehow personally thank you for your education I would love to do this, you saved my life.

My previous manager at a hospital was an extreme narcissist. It was absolutely hell working in that department. I was always in a constant state of confusion, wondering why the department was ran so poorly and why in every meeting she literally said "look at me" and no matter the topic, the conversation always circled backed to her family life or her exercise classes. This is so true. I lost my job and had to give up the place where I used to stay. I get this nasty behaviour from my sister. It started little by little it is so worse now. I stay away from her, make no contact with her although we stay in her house under 1 roof. I pray and ask God to open new doors and to move away as far as can be from her. Never in my whole life did I ever think she is so nasty, self centred full of hate. It came as a shock but yes I see right through her now. She takes my stuff, hides it, it makes no sense to me. I get the crumbs while she eats like a king. I have to clean her house daily, cook the dogs food clean where they mess especially when it rains continuously standing with a mop and broom in my hands 24/7. I am really so disappointed but I have faith to not just let go and please her. On weekends it is far worse. She is still working but I have to clean and get a cent (money), for doing so. They get totally confused when you suddenly cut all contact. You will probably see an alternate pattern of gentle approaches followed by agitated or ragey approaches when their sweet approach doesn’t work. Maintain the wall of silence OR, if you HAVE to respond (like where you have kids business together), keep your responses emotionally barren, three words or less. The less words the better. Like Andrew says: radio silence is their Kryptonite.

Grateful for this affirming message. The silent treatment was done so brutally to me from childhood and in adult relationships. Yes, yes, Andrew. In fact, I was a slave working for her day in and day out.... an " obedient slave." After the shokking hard discard, my "silence " strategy worked so well, under guidance from your teachings. Within the first month of DEAD SILENCE, she was so crazy frustrated that ALL the masks came off. This empowered me to such a level that it gave me the opportunity to start the healing process. Best decision I have ever made, now understanding the many years of abuse I was exposed to. I now, every day, getting stronger, and she has no place in my life anymore. I pray the divorce will be finalized soon to break ALL ties with her. She has no influence over me anymore as I empower myself with wisdom and knowledge of what they are. I had swore I would never read them, but I was curious, so I read it. Never again. I instantly felt strength drain from me like in the past. You are so very right on about what they are doing. I love your channel! My journey has been with my mother all my life. I'm 45 and gone WAY above and beyond for her. I am an only child and she is unmarried, 75 and not in the best health. She has truly made something shift in me to want to never talk to her again. The thought of her makes me ill. But, I'm conflicted due to being the only family she has. At the same time I don't care as she has burned me out. My biggest fear is regretting my pull away towards the end of her life and carrying that guilt. Would love a video or pointed to a previous video that has to do with older parents especially ones who are alone family wise. Thank you again for all your info!!

Consider taking a break, and during this break, go to weekly therapy to deal with guilt, undergo a spiritual conversion and learn what God wants you to do with her, and lawyer up, because if she’s a narcissist, and you break free, all kinds of things will become clear to you, which weren’t apparent before, and, in my experience, some of it was criminal.

My late mother was a covert narcissist right up til her death in her old age. If I had my life over and knew what I know now, I'd have gone no contact years ago.. You have to think about your own well being. If your mother's a narcissist then she won't ever change not even in old age...in fact they get worse. You don't owe her just because she gave you life. If she'd been a loving caring mother you wouldn't be here asking these questions. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

I was definitely the whipping post. I believe I started watching videos and learning about narcissists this past October. Now I knew my EXNARC was a 🔥💩🤡, but until I understood, and saw the patterns (looking back to figure out which part of the cycle I was in 🌀). I was unable to leave. I watched a couple videos per week in the beginning, and probably fell asleep near the end of most of them. I was beyond 6 years into it, had suffered declining health, etc. After it finally clicked, and I was discarded (literally), in the car in the middle of the road) only then did I find the courage to walk away, suddenly, silently, and no contact since I left a month ago. I could not care less if he's metaphorically melting (secretly a little). I am happy to be free regaining some peace, energy, and healing. As always Andrew. Thank you❣️

Silence is so powerful. It gives them no ammunition, no power, it drives them mad :) It's funny actually how these people are all the same. I've been watching some true crime videos with interrogation and all I can think is that my narc relatives would not be anywhere near as well behaved under interrogation, they would be screaming and bouncing off the walls, as we all know they do when caught in a lie. The level of sociopathy in my family is insane.
