Yup, that claim is ridiculous. There was actually research done by Professor Bärtl of the University of Applied Sciences at Offenburg that found most KZbin creators, about 90% of them, live below the poverty line. That's true even if you are immensely popular. On the whole, KZbin doesn't actually pay well unless you are already a celebrity, a corporation or were lucky enough to join a decade ago in the earlier days when there was a shift from doing things purely for fun to it becoming monetisable. If making money is what you're after, I would strongly discourage you from thinking of KZbin as a viable income stream because to make it viable requires a lot of time and energy, and that requires money. To put it into perspective, even Victoria Beckham left KZbin....it was just too expensive and timely to dedicate her time into. Even the successful KZbinrs (think KSI, Logan Paul, etc) don't solely rely on KZbin....they venture out, not only because there's more money to be made, but you don't have the risk of your account being yanked for some unknown reason after years of sweat and tears.

@Hector Ordorica KZbin will exist regardless of Google. Google is a search engine, it does what it does at it's best. People knew about the early and original KZbin platform because of Google. The KZbin concept was new at the time, and I think Google already knew that they got to have it. Of course, that helped KZbin to gain the designing, programming, and technical expertise from Google, which is also a huge portion of KZbin's success. I don't know where you got those DMCA/financial statistics of KZbin from, but it's not a loss unless it's a negative loss.

KZbin was a hit without google. Everyone knew it as "to-go" site before acquisition. What Google did is to pour money into unprofitable business and to keep youtube afloat. It also had enabled to earn money on youtube. Previously only the most successful channels could earn massive amounts of money, leaving rest with nothing. KZbin cut profits of top earners and made that everyone could earn money from it.

Maybe part of youtube's success is because it is a free platform. But now, utube has become one of those "greed cable" companies. Because it bombards you with ads and annoyingly convinces you to buy utube premium, even though their capital is already big enough

This video glances over one of the biggest reasons KZbin became THE dominate video website early on. It revolutionized flash video buffering. Previously players had to buffer almost 50% of a video before it could start to be played. This was a significant amount of time in the 2005-2006 era. KZbin got that preloader time down to under 5 seconds. Without that, its likely that we'd be watching this report on a different website (still likely bought by Google).

What sets KZbin apart from other social media websites is that you still can easily find really good original content here, made by amateurs, small teams, or professionals. There's animation, guides, reviews, tutorials, full scale documentaries about any subject you can and can't imagine. And it's all open, profiles in YT don't feel restricted and you can be recommended anything anytime. When you compare this to Facebook, Instagram and other social media, profiles and feeds are more closed on their own bubbles, content boils down to photos of unknown people, angry comments and insane ramblings about conspiracy theories, stolen memes and videos from other websites. The reason i still have to use FB and other SM is because of college and jobs, but i tray to avoid as much as possible. I would gladly delete all my SM accounts but keep using KZbin.

As a heavy youtube user I can say that it is the only game in town. We need a less restrictive platform to emerge. I don't have a problem with dangerous content being removed or *hate speech, hate speech isn't protected speech, so there is no controversy. Around 2011/2012 youtube algorithm changed. Remember when you used to get lost into parts of youtube you never expected to find? That was because the recommendation videos where an open world of similar content you had not seen, but was relative to the content you where watching. So you where discovering artist, creators and content you've never heard before. Now it's a giant bubble of each one of us. A giant echo bubble of you. It keeps you within you boundaries. It doesn't open you to explore new content that can appeal to you. It keeps you rewatching similar content within your boundaries. I hate that if I watch a video of how to make a cake today because I need a recipe, it continues to show me cakes 5 weeks later. Or if I'm a watching music videos or im on a journey of X type of content, the recommendation video are showing me searches I did 3 weeks ago. Why isn't youtube recommendations keeping up with my actual searching instead of trying to shove me with content that I'm not interested right now? I used to love when you con drift away for hours finding new content in the recommendations. Now it just a big echo bubble of you!!!

Minecraft was bought by Microsoft for 2.5 billion in 2013-2014. Today, it is worth for 5 billion and more in the future. So I would say it was a great deal for the two side. KZbin is not guaranteed to succeed without Google anyway and the creator could bankrupt by those lawsuit. On the other hand, the creator of Android has some bad profit compare to KZbin.
