Makes me wonder if the algo has pref on a vid to get other KZbinrs going. Also makes me think about timing. I’m just a noob and am only speculating but I would guess that starting out and gaining momentum before releasing a video like this is prob the move and then this type of vid will help you pop. Hmm now I’m thinking, can we track subs and see their growth based on which vids? Prob tools out there for this guessing. I’m about to start a channel. I have to do all the research still but fun to think about this stuff.

Awesome video. I think that the biggest problem with KZbinrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload something like once or twice per week, and it also helps to avoid burn out.
@reesemadeleinefit5 ай бұрын
I definitely think that being intentional about what you post and ensuring that the content you are producing is valuable is super important - it's something I'm working on myself! Being a perfectionist definitely makes any sort of creative endeavor challenging, but the thing with creating is that there is no "perfect." I am always going to think that a video could be better in some way, but I just have to accept that that is part of creating. We are never going to be amazing at something we are brand-new to, and we are probably going to mess up - but that's how we learn and get better! If I let it stop me from posting, I am only holding myself back from opportunities to learn, grow, and reach my full potential. And the same is true for you! Just go for it, I promise that the more you challenge that part of yourself, the easier it will get 😉

Shorts ruined 2 of my other channels and I posted over a hundred on each. Shorts are not long content friendly. Im not the only one that feels that way. I have a lot on this channel as well and most of them didn’t do well at all. It took a long time just for a most of them to get 1 view. I took time off of building this channel to focus more on the one that got monetized first. KZbin was treating this channel poorly since I started it last year. Im hoping that will change now that Im only posting long content weekly.

It depends on the type of the channel ,person , perspective and personal beliefs - for some people shorts work great for others not- if you believe they help you they will, if you don't, they won't
@LifeOfViette5 ай бұрын
@@cristinacranganu 😂 i get what you are saying, but the whole believing or not believing is a complete cliché to say the least. Because in the beginning my hope and attitude was extremely high and in the right place for the strategy that was being promoted on how to succeed with shorts, until hit video 90 and realized something strange was going on. I compiled a long list of channels that all stared within the last 2 years that all mostly had under 50 videos and they all seemed to have reached over 100k followers...mind you they are all the exact same type of channel, stolen content with voiceovers. There is something deeper going on on this site and no one is talking able it.
@LifeOfViette5 ай бұрын
@@cristinacranganu all in all, from me testing out different shorts strategies on 5 different channels, some also including long vids, it only hurt my longer video views and or the shorts didn't perform at all. Ah I really love your style, thanks for sharing your experience. It really hit home to me when you started talking about the perfectionism, it led me to realise that I hold that rule for myself that it needs to be perfect and it doesn’t .. I can embrace the imperfection 🎉

You're AWESOME, Reese! This is the first time I've seen you, and I'm really glad I took the time to watch your video, if for no other reason than I have the same "issue" with the perfectionist part!!! I'm stalled, and having a really tough time getting past it.

It's definitely not something you can get over overnight. Continually and consistently challenge that part of yourself, even in small ways, and it will get easier over time!

Thank you for this video, Reese. Congrats on your graduation!! You're so inspiring...I just started my channel at the end of April without knowing what I wanted to use it for other than to connect with awesome people who are looking for something that *I* uniquely can give them, if only in some small way that may feel insignificant to others! But I'm about 10 videos in with 32 subs (been stuck there almost a month!) so after a nice bump to start, total crickets, which is discouraging obviously. At the core of whatever I share, I want it to be authentic, relatable and helpful to me AND others. I talk a lot about my ADHD, anxiety and perfectionism...but I don't think there are a lot of folks looking this up on KZbin from what I can tell :-) At the end of the day, the idea you passed along from Ali about how the first 50 videos nobody's meant to see (usually) reinforces what I already knew, but I guess was hoping wouldn't take as long because I'm impatient and feel like my results should exactly match the amount of sheer effort and desire I'm putting into something ...which OBVIOUSLY is so not the case haha. Anyway, you've helped me shake off my discouragement so I stop comparing myself to others (or worse, my own unrealistic perfectionistic standards) and can refocus on what I truly believe: that at the end of the day, even if I don't "help" or connect with the amount of good people out there that I hope to with whatever I say or do, me just showing up vulnerably and earnestly and honestly for ME is enough. I'm 48 and spent 25 years in a corporate environment but am only just now leaning into the idea that I AM a content creator. I AM a creative. I do have a voice that I use to amplify and serve others, and gosh darnit...I'M GONNA KEEP USING IT 'til I find my people! Best of luck, girlie. I'll be cheering you on with each video now we've crossed paths. So excited to follow your journey!

Hey Allison, thank you so much for sharing your own story - you are incredible! I truly think there is an audience out there for every creator, it's just a matter of time before you find one another! I know it's so hard to stay out of the numbers and comparison game, but focusing on that is only going to keep us in a place of self-doubt and hold us back . Keep making the content that YOU want to make and being yourself, and no matter how many people end up watching, you will feel fulfilled knowing that you are staying true to who you are. I'm cheering you on!!

Thank you for creating this, Reese. It's appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out a niche, but I do find value in what you say. I've told myself I'm going to create to create. If ONE person finds value from something I share it's better than NO people finding value... so I've done some good. :) God bless!

It's great that you've started KZbin! I still struggle to even begin, despite wanting to for years. I also have the mindset that everything has to be perfect before I can upload it, which really bothers me and stops me from making any videos. My own voice and appearance when I speak sometimes bother me, but I need to make peace with that because it’s who I am. Recently, I've been thinking more seriously about starting a channel. I have the ideas, the gear, and the knowledge. Seeing this video popup on my homepage made me think again about taking a leap of faith and just start. Good luck and congratulations on your graduation! I hope you enjoyed Europe. Greetings from the Netherlands!

It’s amazing to me to see such similarities in the stories of new content creators and how we all face the same or similar fears before starting a channel. This is probably the 15th video I see about how KZbin changed someone’s life and I’m so proud of you guys for taking the bull and riding it. Kudos to you!!! I to am speaking into existence my dreams and goals of getting to the point of making my own “how KZbin changed my life” video. Stay tuned!!!
