I completely understand what Klarque is saying at the end. Fortnite is trying to move away from the goofy, cartoony style it had in the earlier chapters. Bullet drop, darker colors, and movement changes all make it seem like just another battle royale. Fortnite was known for being colorful and playful. I personally think Chapter 4 was the most vibrant and colorful Fortnite has been out of all the chapters.

I'd disagree on the statement about C4, but I agree with everything else. I personally think C3 was Fortnite's peak in visuals since the style was still rather simple and vibrant, but also the game found a proper direction to refine the artstyle towards using different visual effects to spice up how things looked. C4 came around when the new engine came around as well, so it came with a lot of fine-detail stuff in its visuals like more detailed trees and grass and bushes, which personally I wished I could disable without stepping down everything else in terms of visuals because of how much it made me on edge with how many times I thought I saw a player moving, but it was just a fluttering leaf effect. C5 continued in that direction and it honestly looks pretty blegh in comparison; the only biome that feels "Fortnite-y" is the new Doom's domain biome since it has more vibrant and saturated grass, even if it's darker.

@@BaeYeou personally i think chapter 2 was the most vibrant of all, due to it pretty much being the last one to have the og loot but also, being closer to ch1. I also think that regarding the storyline, it has been left behind for a while now. I think that things such as seeing what's up with the seven or geno, and how things are working in this universe could actually get some more attention and care. It's like after ch4 things have been just forgotten and it sucks

Honestly, I'd just make the island smaller. The only reason movement items are so valuable to winning is because they allow for people to run away to isolated areas faster or get to a more advantageous position easier, and the only reason that's such a viable option is because the island is absolutely massive with a lot of empty space even if all 99 players were spread out evenly. Making the island smaller would bring back more power to standard movement and also generally make not having a movement item less of a pain.

​@@BushCampButcherI mean i am a nintendo switch zb player so I feel like I can give some insight on this topic. Switch lobbies can be very volatile. Sometimes they are cakewalks that just require u to know how to aim and shoot. Other times they can be more difficult than some people make it out to be. Keep in mind Switch and Mobile players were put in the same lobbies most of the time due to the switch being underpowered compared to the ps4 and 5 and the xboxs and pc. And after the whole apple incident, we are put into lobbies with more ps and xbox players and the occasional pc players.

For example lets say your a KBM player and I am a xbox player and I am a party leader. We queue up for some duos and get ready to play. However, since your a KBM player you will have a massive advantage over the xbox, switch, playsation and mobile players. But it then also causes another issue, this change you suggested would make crossplay non existent due to epic making this change. Because how would the matchmaking algorithm factor in duos, trios and squads that have users in the same party on a console and a mouse and keyboard. It works for Switch because mobile exists but it doesnt fully remove Pc, Playstation and xbox players I still run into a few in my zb matches.

It could be within the in-game settings, or within the website account settings (similar to how MFA must be enabled to play in a tournament). In summary, controller players wouldn't be forced to play with KBM players, but they'd need to acknowledge the potential for increased wait times for lobbies to fill.

The one thing that could fix Fortnite for good is split loot pools for ranked and pubs. These last two seasons have shown exactly why one loot pool doesn't work because comp players want everything nerfed, but casuals still want these items to be fun.

Honestly i think the main thing that epic needs to do is split the lootpools between ranked and pubs, with the current system it really discourages epic from adding goofy or broken items out of fear that it will ruin ranked, we're never going to get something to the level of the sword again if this doesnt change.

They already kind of do it anyways, with how C5S3 had cars and nitro fists disabled, and how the current season has cars and the hoverpack disabled. I just wish they'd take the full step rather than half-assing it. I'd be fine with them splitting the lootpool as a casual player, just as long as it doesn't discourage balanced play in casual BR/ZB. The hoverpack's spawn rate nerf doesn't even really do anything but make it suck even more when you get gunned down by someone with a constant height advantage zipping around in the air because they were lucky enough to find one.

Honestly just bring back the cartoonish-ness and wacky items. It doesn't have to be like Chapter 1 cartoony, but seasons like Ch2S7, Ch3S1, etc. were some of my personal favorites because they introduced items that you could use and combine with others in a lot of wacky and interesting ways that made it fun to experiment and play around and elevated fortnite beyond just a boring, realistic 3rd person battle royale.

I think the game lost a lot of its identity and needs to get more creative with rift events, building and POI designs. I would get rid of battle stars. I feel like they don't really have a good purpose to exist (discourages unlocking items out of order despite its purpose), They often makes the battle pass feel more grindy (Immediate items always feel more rewarding than potential items), and gives you less rewards in the initial 100 levels (paid and free rewards being fused together and many rewards that would have been in free / paid track or challenges being put into the 101 to 130 levels, forcing players to grind further to get rewards they should have gotten). Bringing it back to to og battle pass system of "level = reward" would make the game feel less taxing.

Battle stars do have a benefit in that they allow players to unlock certain sections at least slightly before they would had they just spent their stars on the things immediately available in a way similar to a level-based progression system. If they'd much rather spend the stars on a later part, they can just skip a page or two and wait until they've unlocked the page at a certain level, and spend their saved stars on the newly unlocked page. I personally don't mind either progression system, but battle stars do allow for a little more flexibility in terms of player choice.

I think one thing I would change is the storytelling and by extension yearly chapters. I think yearly chapters really hurt the storytelling potential for Fortnite and it feels like plot points are just being rushed through in order to get to the next chapter and island which ends up telling a completely different story. I know not everyone truly cares about the storyline but one of the biggest draws to the game are the live events and those are directly tied to the storyline and now we only get 1 a chapter anymore if that.

Honestly, 1 chapter = 1 year is too short and barely gives players a chance to feel connected with the island before it's gone. I wish instead the system was 1 chapter = 2 years, since it gives more time for a storyline to be fleshed out without rushed pacing and lets players become attached to the island without the landscape becoming too standard and boring after playing for so long.

It has to be the storyline for me. Charlie Wen has done a great job so far, especially with the consistency of the lore and how everyone intertwines with one another, such as Pandora’s Box. The mini events are nice to witness, but it just does not feel the same compared to the likes of Collision, Invasion or even The End V2. All of these events entail fundamental characters and groups (The Seven, the IO and The Last Reality). The feeling of watching these events when we saw The Foundation revealed in CH2S8 alongside Slone betraying us in CH2S6 as well as Slone ‘dying’ in CH3S2, with Jones being the driving force behind The Seven’s triumph, was all so great! I want that same feeling for Hope, Valeria, Jones currently and even Doom now. Live events, for me, that are combined with interactive parts, cinematic and huge lore drops that create ranges of feelings is what I loved about the storyline from CH2S6-CH3S2 If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to allow Charlie Wen the ability to create these huge live events once again and more depth in the storyline. 🫶🏻

its not for everyone but if the question is just aimed towards me I'm 100% saying bring back the lore, its felt very spread out and confusing since the end of chapter 3 and ESPECIALLY chapter 4, like we still don't even know how the chapter 5 island came into being. One thing I would do to fix Fortnite is just bring back all the LTM’s like High explosives, close encounters, one shot, siphon, the gateway, unvalted, etc., and my still my favorite food fight TEAM TOMATE 🍅. But the reason is because epic could add different LTM’s each update week making the game have more variety to BR instead of the other things like Lego Fortnite, Fornite festival, and even Fortnite reboot. If there was one thing I would do to fix fortnite for building, it's an edit delay. For example, if you edit a build, you need to wait 1 second or so before you can edit again. Because the difference between build and no build playing is really just people who edit like crazy. Those are the ones who really ruin it. My friends and I really do miss playing, but the risk of editors outweighs our want for build mode.

I pretty much stayed away from builds because of what you have said. Yes it is obvious that a core mechanic would evolve and become advanced over the years, but it should not have to be who can edit and build faster to win a fight in a battle royale game. Yes building is the main vocal point of the game but it will always be classed as a battle royale. Those who complain about OP items I understand their points, but the same can be said about the building mechanic. Yes there is skill to it, but there is a huge rng factor in it, which is ping and also the fact that KBM players have a huge advantage over controller players for building.

I would like to see Fortnite go back to two year long chapters and put more detail into their seasons and mid season updates. One year long chapters has made the feeling of a new chapter feel less special each year and it has also noticeably affected the amount of content we get during each season. To me, Chapter 5 has felt like one long season due to the lack of content and how dull parts of the map feel. For the past couple years, Fortnite has put themselves in a constant cycle of new map, ok second season, boring summer season, and mediocre fourth season while also waiting for the next chapter. I want Fortnite to mix up their pattern and put more love back into each season so they feel special again instead of a piece to a cycle.

The one thing I'd do to fix Fortnite, huh? Well, there's a lot of things that I think could be improved upon, especially since Chapter 4-5's launches, but if I could do anything for the game right now, I'd probably bring back the pre-Chapter 5 movement. Now, I'm not saying get rid of the new animations per se, but the old movement with the old speed at least. Or maybe bring back the old movement animations for the walking specifically but keep the rest of them such as the new crouching animation. Ever since Chapter 5 launched, even after the changes, I have never been able to adjust to the new movement. Whenever I'm out of sprint it just feels like I'm genuinely jogging everywhere and can't do anything. And in Builds it's especially jarring. Thankfully I'm more of a Zero Build guy, but still. If that's too picky though, I think a solid next step would be to bring back hit-scan. I mean, come on now. The projectile-based weapons just ain't it, chief.

I completely disagree with that guy about Siphon. It should be its own mode. I like fighting, winning, and scrambling to heal before someone else finds me. Or getting attacked, escaping, and healing before they find you. For me, it's such a rush. Also, if you have siphon, there is no point in a heal slot. There are 5 slots. Primarily, unless I'm carrying too many fun items, I run either two guns, AR, or shot gun. A wakie item like the shock wave hammer, and last two slots shield and medkits. Or 3 guns, two heal slots. My point is if you take away a heal slot, it messes up the balance of strategy being picky what you're carrying. That's just me. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks. Leave a comment. 1st off great video. I say all this for love of the game. Get rid of the bunkers they are pointless. Put mod benches everywhere from the beginning or get rid of them and have floor loot rng with mods on the weapons. If I get lucky getting a purple rarity weapon or higher I should go upgrade it if I have gold. They need to fix the run. We run out of sprint when it matters. Getting around a corner is crucial and most of the time I get laser’d cuz I run out of sprint. It doesn’t help desync favors some players and puts others in a disadvantage. Ranked is broken with the cheaters. You can easily get ranked up in ranked so easy. You don’t get much for getting hire in ranked at all. Nothing special is acquired from ranked. Do something about the cheaters. It’s crazy how someone can cheat for months and keep doing it. Siphon would be nice to get cuz sometimes the pace of the game is so boring especially when I can’t get a jetpack or movement of any kind. Trying to find heals is sometimes so annoying after searching 5+ chests. Most ppl don’t have heals on their body cuz they do the minimum to win or they can’t find any like me. Ranked and zero builds/builds should be separate from the loot pools. For the love of god, The locker is trash. It looks so plain dirty boring to look at. Revert back to showing rarity with its colors. If you’re gonna have powerful items in the game. Make sure everyone can get it. I hate fighting someone who has a jetpack when I can’t find one out of a chest. I only get them when I elim players. That’s annoying af. Also for items and skins that are so rare they don’t ever come back to the shop. There should be a way to buy them. You know how much sales they’d do if renegade raider or galaxy skin would be purchasable for $100 or something like that in the item shop. Bring back EVENTS with stories and lore. It’s so boring that I can only look forward to new seasons. When I’m not playing Fortnite br if there was an event I’d jump back on and check the event out. The last events have been below mid. The fact I have to level to 200 is so boring. It should be getting to level 100 grants you everything since most ppl can’t play 10+ hrs a day. Should I go on lol. I love Fortnite but there’s so much that needs to be done.

Unpopular opinion but make it so people who played on a season but didnt buy or finish the battle pass be available to buy. That way people that played in a season don't need to worry abt finishing a battle pass. Or at least make it like halo infinite did thier passes.

I would like fortnite to bring back Augments backs, bounty boards to help find people who are hiding in final big circles and to take away fortnite legacy styles it's kinda getting boring of the same styles every single month

This is a specific suggestion representative of a larger thing, but bring back augments. They tried mods this chapter which is cool and all, but they had their chance, and it didn't work. For one they're boring as hell but two, even the best possible weapon mods are far outclassed in potential and fun by exotic weapons and augments. Augments have infinite possibility
